I really am a computer dummy. I feel in love with Quick Books for Dummies. It was on my low level & I could follow everything in the book. But this book is not nearly that simple. The guy who wrote it simply knows too much & doesn't realize how the real dummies think. He uses a lot of MAC jargon without realizing it. It has hardly helped me at all. I have to keep getting my children & friends to help me.

Don't buy this book if you are a genuine beginner on the MacBook. It is not an introduction to the MacBook, but rather assumes that you already understand many terms. You cannot open your new MacBook and open MacBook for Dummies and get a step-by-step introduction to your machine and how to use it. I gave up after several frustrating attempts to use it. His snarky writing style doesn't help. It may very well be useful for an advanced Mac user, but it isn't a good book for someone just starting out.

If your MacBook is a few years old, then this is the perfect book for you. It is clearly written and fun to read. But computers change quickly, and in some important areas this manual hasn't kept up.

I have a black MacBook that I bought new in July 2008; I wanted to upgrade its memory so my video game would run a bit better. I intended to use "Dummies" to guide me through the upgrade process. Well... I had my MacBook opened up and was about to start the RAM-ectomy when I realized that the diagrams in the book didn't look at all like my laptop! The anatomy was simply wrong.

Anyway, thanks to a YouTube clip I managed to figure things out. My "patient" survived and is doing well. ; ) Still... I wish I'd known before I'd paid for this book that it wasn't quite up to date.

This is not "EVERYTHING" you wanted to know about your laptop but it does provide some helpful information and a few surprises. If you buy it with OTHER BOOKS it can be a good part of a collection. I rate it a C+. The author is very amusing sometimes.

Look, Apple made a GREAT personal Labtop. PERIOD! If you want to get up to speed (before the Genius Bar), there is simply no better book than Mark L. Chambers' MacBook For Dummies. Plainly written, well laid out; you'll get ALL the basic information you'll ever need to logically understand your GREAT tool!

I recently purchased a MacBook after using a PC for too long and wanted to get a quick course on what to expect this book helped make the transition easy and also what to expect.

The Mac is really so easy to use that one would think that a book would not be necessary, but having used PC's at work and home for several decades there were a lot of habits that I needed to break and I did not want too many surprises...this book really helped make that transition easy and enjoyable.

I own a couple dozen "Dummy" books and they always provide good information in a short precise manner and are easy to read and understand.

The book came early than expected. The book looked new. It was VERY HELPFUL in solving some of the questions I had about my Mac. I cross referenced it with the other "MACS for Dummies" book to learn even more about how to operate my MacBook Pro. Excellent book for MAC users!
And at the right price.

This is the MAC book to get if you only have 1 this is the one to own... I find this book so easy to use and I have found almost every question I've had so far. But I have not tried to do a lot of things yet so far it has been simple when I look it up and then read it over I think wow this is easy....

This seller is great! I received the book within a week and it was in perfect condition! This book is going to change the way I use my MacBook! Great book!

This book will come in handy since I switched from Windows to a MacBook. Things are a lot different so it is nice to be able to refer to the book when I need to.
