The information is well organized which makes the book an easy read.

Too many questions are not answered, so I'm quite disappointed - it omits the simplest things, which are what I need to ask.
Karen K. Porter
My Fiance has gotten very frustrated switching from a PC to a Mac, so I ordered this for him for Christmas.

I switched from a PC to a MAC and I had many questions on how to maneuver the operating system. I could go to the Apple Store and meet with a tech but I'd get home and I had even more questions! This book is so handy and it's so easy to find answers to my questions. If you're not used to a MAC, this book is an absolute necessity!!

Bought this and read through it before getting my New MacBook, it made the MacBook a lot easier to navigate. I still refer to it when i'm in doubt or need guidance. Easy to understand.

This book is an excellent guide for the beginner. The information is clearly written, easily looked up in the index, and is presented with a sense of humor. An excellent reference to keep nearby the computer.

I love these books. I find it very useful because I love manuals. I find it easier to flip these pages than go to the computer and look up the user manual. There are also many extra hints that I have found very useful. By having this book I can work on the computer and use the manual at the same time, rather than flipping screens. I would recommend

Excellent. New to Mac so this was a good foundation for learning the basics and beyond. It allows the reader to see all that Mac is capable of delivering.

This book didn't give me enough info. I was disappointed and ordered MacBook pro by Brad Miser. It's proven to be much better for someone going from a PC to a Mac for the first time.

Chambers has put together an entertaining read that is both friendly and comprehensive, throwing in lots of tips and great ideas along the way to help you get the most out of your MacBook. This is my first laptop (MacBook Pro) and the author's tips on how and when to recharge the battery (including very detailed nuances about the process) have proven very helpful, as well as his hints on Previewing applications and documents, his suggestions for protecting your laptop, and his tips about Notification Center, etc.. Heck, he covers everything, as you can see if you take a look at the Table of Contents (or the extensive Index).

The only reason I haven't given this book 5 stars is because it needs more diagrams and pictures to make some things more clear. Chambers writes very well, but sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words.

I assumed (wrong of me) that a Macbook for dummies meant that it was a basic beginner book that I could give to someone that had very little ability on the computer. In reading the description, that is what I assessed. This is not a beginners book.
