MacBook Portable Genius should be rated somewhere between excellent and outstanding! It is a quick and easy reference guide that answers almost any question a new MacBook owner might have. I bought this book because it was the newest reference book on the market for my new MacBook. It is full of step-by-step guides that help with installing new applications and programs, it helps solve small problems that may appear for folks who are new to Apple computers and MacBook. MacBook Portable Genius is a quality product!

I bought my first laptop ever, a MacBook. I have had Apple products since the mid 80's and I am pretty comfortable with them but I like to have a book to read, not just the "help" pulldown menu. My wife and I were traveling and a bookstore we stopped at had this Portable Genius series and I really liked the simple language, the colored photos and the step by step instruction helps. I had just purchased an iPhone so I got the iPhone book. Easy to use, easy to read. I have an iMac and MacBook and OS X Leopard "Genius" books as well. I would only buy MacBook or Mac not both as there isn't enough difference to buy both. I have recommended them to two friends who have just purchased their first Apple products and they got the books and have already thanked me. Do I get royalties for this glowing report? Just kidding.

buy ALL the genius series books! couldn't manage without them. much easier and faster and less embarrassing than asking a real person. written with lots of humor which makes it FUN to read--and i hate reading manuals!

I have my first laptop and it is a MacBook Pro. I haven't used an Apple anything since my Apple 2C in the late 70's-early 80's.
Since all I have used for many years iC a PD with M/S. I needed to learn quick to use the Mac. The book is great and provides
information on most anything you want to do with the MacBook Pro. It also has Pictures, Pictures, Pictures.
So if you can't read you can follow the pictures. i recommend this to all users but, especially new users.

The book was in great shape and is providing the badly needed assistance I need in getting to know and work with my MacBook!

I'm new to the Mac and needed a good reference since I am an hour from any store for 1 on 1 help.

Is a easy way to learn about Snow Leopard! If you are changing PC to Mac is good idea.

The book was excellent - as shown on the web site. Delivery and customer service was first rate - better than 5 star!
