This product does what it says. It works with my Ipod Touch 1st Gen. (Midomi) and all the recording apps. Can't beat it... The only negative is its size. It could be smaller...

I was so excited to talk on skype through my ITouch!! It will be valuable to have when I am overseas. It isn't phone quality, but will work when I don't have a phone, but can find wi-fi.

I originally purchased this product to use with my iPod Touch. Though the iTalk III (this recorder) wasn't advertised as being compatible with the iPod Touch, I figured it would be worth a shot, and the results were great. I downloaded Skype for my iPod Touch, plugged the microphone into the dock connector on my iPod, and everything worked perfectly.

The sound quality is excellent, and the microphone is small enough to be portable. Overall, it's a superb product, and one I use all the time.

For anyone who wants to use this product as a voice recorder with the iPod Touch 1G: Be aware that most voice recording programs will not install on the iPod Touch due to incompatibility. Skype is an exception because of its text chat capabilities. Check that the program you want to use will work before purchasing.

I got this item a few days ago. I use it with my iPod touch (you have to get an application from the app store that will support your ipod. I have the 1g and I use the app "Voxie" to record with this mic).

The quality is impressive for the price I paid for it. It's very lightweight but still sounds good. My only concern is that the volume is quite low when you record, which another reviewer mentioned as well. I would rather have good quality than loud volume though.

It does everything it says it will do. I'm happy with the audio quality but there's no detent in the design of the plug to hold it in the itouch or ipod. it works well for recording but my $400.00 itouch looks pretty trashy with a rubber band around it holding the microphone in place.

I bought this microphone to record lectures in school. It works pretty well, especially if you're sitting close to the speaker. At the back of the room, you pick up a lot of background noise, but you can still what's being said. I've only used it in small classrooms, so I can't comment on how it would perform in a lecture hall, but my guess is that it would be okay if the speaker was using a microphone. My main complaint, however, is that it drains the battery in my iPod (an 80G iPod classic) from a full charge in a little over an hour, so if you have a full day of lectures, you're out of luck.

You may not know that your 1st generation Ipod Touch can make voice calls through Skype or other voip client by using this external mic and updating the iPod Touch firmware to 2.2. You can also use your iPod Touch as a voice recorder and not have to buy another device. I found that this mic work well for making Skype calls. You don't need any special software to make it works just plug it into the iPod touch and use whatever application for voice recording (I use Voxie) or voip client (I use Skype) it is that simple. I think this is a great buy to be able to give your 1st gen Ipod touch the extra feature of making voip calls and voice recorder.

This little unit does an amazing job. I employed it to record the musical portion of a chamber orchestra recital from the rear of a mid-sized church sanctuary. The iVoiceIII picked up the music. However, I had to amplify the resultant WAV file via an audio package (the open source Audacity does a great job). After amplifying the recording and removing extraneous audio, I saved each track as an mp3 file. You can also use the iVoiceIII as a simple voice recorder for note taking. A great little item.

This is one great device to have. I can now make phone calls using my 1st gen. ipod touch(along with Skype). There are no cons concerning this product.

I've been using this microphone all year. It is very easy to use. You just attach it to the i-pod and record anything you want. I use it to record live music of all sorts. The sound quality is great! I recommend it for music teachers and music lovers!
