I have a fondness for Macally products in general and keyboards in particular. I look to Macally almost exclusively for 3rd party Macintosh keyboards (and mice) since Logitech seems to have abandoned the Mac-specific market in the past couple years. Their prices are reasonable too. I purchased this keyboard to use with the family's new Mac Mini with OS X 10.6.

I have always found Macally's keyboards to provide excellent tactile feedback. I am not disappointed in this keyboard either. The keys respond very well and, unlike the Apple Wireless keyboard, it includes a number pad. It also includes the inverted 'T' arrow keys, the six keys typically found above the arrows and fifteen function keys. In addition, it has the volume up/down, mute and optical disc eject key above the numpad and alongside the function key row.

Making a BlueTooth connection was simple and fast. Waking up the mini has not been a problem.

One potential drawback is something I've encountered with other white Macally keyboards. The keys tend to pick up finger oil and get dirty quickly. I suspect this may happen to this keyboard based on my experience. All in all, Macally delivered what I was expecting.

Having used PCs for years, I couldn't get comfortable with Apple's extended keyboard. The Macally has a much better feel for me, and also has tabs in the back to give it an angle, instead of laying flat like the Apple. So for it's main function, typing, it earns 5 stars. Also highly rated was the Bluetooth setup, which was easy and direct.

It does have some quirks that overall cause me to down rate it to 3 stars. It is white, and thus matches older Macs, not the new aluminum clad models. The keys are labeled with decals, not silk screened on like Apple's appear to be, so they may not be very durable. The keys are not 100% compatible with the Apple keyboard with keypad. The function keys (F1 - F15) are purely function keys, so there is no brightness control (F1/F2), Play/Back/Forward (F8 - F10) etc. But the Macally does have dedicated keys for Mute, Volume Up, Volume Down and Eject above the numeric keypad. There is no Function key -- it is labeled Help where Fn would be on the extended keyboard. When pressed, it changes the cursor to a question mark, but beyond that, I'm not sure of its purpose. And on the keypad, the Clear key is also labeled Num Lock, which seems more appropriate to a PC keyboard. The Caps Lock light is on the top right, not part of the key as in Apple's case. The Command key is not labeled command, but just has the symbol. And unlike Apple's mouse which shows the battery condition in the Bluetooth menulet, the Macally has a battery low light near the Caps Lock light. Finally, the on/off switch is on the bottom -- a position along the side or back of the case would be more convenient.

In summary, the typing feel, while subjective, is for me much better that the Apple keyboard, but the other features leave room for improvement.

Just a quick note to say that this keyboard does work with the iPad. Just open the Bluetooth menu on the iPad, then turn on the keyboard and press the Pairing button on the underside. After a short time, the iPad will show the keyboard as an available device to pair. Touch it, and then enter the combination displayed on the iPad screen to complete the pairing process.

Hello - This is a great looking keyboard with a nice touch and feel. I would rate it 5 Stars; however, the keyboard died after 60 days of light use (only used on weekends). I tried changing batteries with 3 different, fully charged AAA batteries, deleting the device from MAC Book Pro and re-adding it to no avail. I even attempted to pair it with a MAC Mini with no luck. I consider myself to be an advanced user and am typically able to trouble shoot most problems. However, I have concluded there must be an internal short in the keyboard and the device is dead. When I bought this product, I knew others had experienced similar problems, but I chose to ignore those postings. Well, now I know those were very legit warning, so I will repeat those warning for others to STEER CLEAR until MACally has improved the quality of their product. I tried returning to Amazon, but the product is past 30 days. Now, I only hope MACally will ship me a replacement or refund my money. I am skeptical, so stay tuned.

Update - I contacted Macally to get a RMA number and returned the product to them. I have contacted their RMA Department twice but they won't respond or give me a status on my RMA. It has been 3 weeks since they received the returned BT Keyboard. It is so frustrating. Given the poor level of customer service, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

The order was on time and the product is brand new! It's an ok mouse but the keyboard doesn't have a soft/gentle typing and therefore it's a bit loud. I haven't use it to play game so my experince is of someone that works 8h a day doing graphics. The power button on the keyboard gets stuck and most of the times i can't use it. Also very often I get a late response to my clicks. I would say that if you are really tight with money it's ok but if you can invest a little more to have a better quality keep looking for something else.
