For the last couple of months, my JBOXMINI has recharged/powered a palm pda, phone, headset, ipod, gps, and other usb-powered devices. It holds charge well and provides multiple recharges of devices. Very lightweight and just a bit larger than 4 AA batteries, it makes an incredibly portable charging alternative, especially when combined with retractable usb cables and adapter tips. (See ziplinq.com/retractable-cable-adapt.html for examples of the latter.)

Favorite features: the mini-usb in (no need to carry an adapter to recharge the JBOXMINI, just plug it into a usb port or ac-to-usb adapter such as the Versacharger), regular usb out (no proprietary cables), power switch (no accidental discharges), and battery level display.

Bottom line: it's earned a permanent home in my briefcase.

Great product. After a very bad travel experience where I along with thousands of others were stranded in a midwest airport all looking for outlets to charge our phones I decided to purchase this item. It was shipped promptly. Worked right out of the box. I've used it to recharge my Iphone 4 or 5 times now and it works perfectly. Small and compact, it will be a great addition for travel and an emergency charge. Appears to recharge a completely run down Iphone in about 1.5 hours. GREAT!

I ordered this to power my GPS receiver for my Nikon D200. I didn't like the idea of using the camera's battery to power the receiver because as it is D200 doesn't give a good battery life. This has a on/off switch too which allows me to switch off my receiver when I switch off my camera. This is not possible if you use Nikon's MC-35 cord to connect to a GPS receiver. I have used velcro to fix this and the GPS receiver together to my camera's strap

At my day job Im a porter. There isnt much human interaction in my workday so Im one who listens to audiobooks and podcasts throughout the day on my iPhone. In addition to that I use it to conduct a great deal of the surfing online that I used to bring my laptop to work in order to do. The iPhone is great in that it makes it unnessesary for most to have to bring their laptops everywhere however the battery will probably never make it through a day of constant use.
Enter the j-box mini. Unlike the other reviews which made me hesitate to buy this, it worked right out of the box and after several charge cycles shows no signs of dying. It fits in the little "5th pocket" on my jeans and it doesnt just power the iPhone like other external packs do. It actually charges the battery. Has saved my life a bunch of times. I would recommend this to anyone who has an iPhone loves it and doesnt want to bring their laptop around everywhere anymore.

This battery works great with my ipod. The great thing about it is, you can use it with anything that charges off of a usb cable. It is so easy to charge and use to charge other things. It is simple to set up, easy to carry, and simple to use. The finish scratches easily, so I have given up trying to protect that. Mine is all scratched up, but that's not a problem. It still works great. The only con is that the battery indicator is not the best. It lights up all the lights to mean the battery is fully charged or close to full for most of the time, then finally you see the first indicator light go away after using about half of the battery. As long as you know this is the case, though, you shouldn't be surprised when your battery runs out.

I bought this for my son to use with a iPod Touch 32Mb 3rd Gen. When we plugged the charged battery into the iTouch, the Touch produced a message stating this device does not support charging the unit. It appeared to run as an external battery for me for about 5 min, but my son said it would shut off shortly after. It still shows full charge, so I don't know if he just missed the message instruction, but it's clear the Touch doesn't think this is compatible with charging. Be cautious. Got ours locally at Fry's, not on sale, for $19.95.

I needed a way to keep my iPhone powered in the middle of nowhere on a vespa ride across the country. No interstates at all. The middle of nowhere.

Compact External Li-ion Batter I bought this on the recommendation of a co-worker, and it has saved me a few times already during my 2-hour train commute each day. In the past, if my cell phone and/or iPod got too low on power, I was stuck. I didn't want to buy one of those AA-powered emergency chargers (which at 20 bucks seemed way overpriced anyway), so the fact that this unit is rechargeable via USB was perfect for me.

The physical on/off switch, the battery check meter, included cable and case make this a steal at this price. It is very tiny, so tucks into my briefcase easily. It seems very well thought out and, though I can't comment on long-term reliability, it performs as advertised for my situation. It has already made my commute less miserable by recharging a dead iPod (an essential item for sanity on a crowded commuter train!).

I recently bought a second one as a gift for my college-aged son, so that he won't be able to use the "my cellphone died" excuse for not calling us!
