When I unboxed my iPad 4 weeks ago, my first thought was "this is the most beautiful gadget ever." My second thought was "I wish I didn't have to put it in a case, but I better do it SOON." Didn't do it though, before the man in the airline seat in front of me changed his seat back, sending my slippery pad from the tray table to the carpeted floor, resulting in 2 gashes in the side.
So 3 weeks and 2 cases later, I'm thrilled with this case. Very high quality befitting a $600+ device. Aesthetically I would say it is just plain ELEGANT because the beauty of the iPad shows thru. Though it isn't crystal-clear, it's darn close. First I ordered a silicone case from different Amazon vendor and it looked cheap and didn't fit well. This one fits perfectly, on the snug side. The plastic is a good compromise between hard and soft, I'd characterize it as firm - not slippery and not sticky. I can lay it down or prop it up against a sturdy surface without worrying about it sliding off my glasstop desk or slick countertop.
Sizewise, this case is thin, so it fits perfectly in my Luxmo zebra sleeve
Universal Soft Sleeve Pouch for 8 - 10" Netbook Laptop - Exotic Safari Black White Zebra Print with Double Zipper Perhaps the most pleasant surprise is that this case only added 4 oz. to the weight of my iPad, along with the fact that it visually "disappears" due to the clear color. The product description is deceptive, saying it weighs 12.8 oz.
I see NO negatives. As others have said, the volume rocker button and the sleep button are covered, but operate with a little extra pressure, no big deal for me. All the other ports/speakers are open. My case has no rough edges, and it wraps just over the edge of the screen enough that when I add a screen protector, I'll have a seamless-looking unit that retains the look and feel of an unadorned iPad.
I was prepared to pay a lot more for the perfect case after returning the cheapie. Happily with with Flexfitpad, I got exactly what I wanted at about half the price I expected to pay.
