After trusting using other Progeny Press Products, I dove into Hamlet and then MacBeth. I did not know until then that you could enjoy Shakespeare. I chose these two guides as they were the 2 Shakespeare plays I knew from high school. These guides would be good not only for the homeschool family, but also anyone in high school studying them as they are very helpful in the analysis, character development, etc. My girls did these as Junior High students. They know more about the plays than I did as a senior in high school! (I was a straight A student!).
My girls will be saving their work from these guides as it will help them write papers on those plays should they come across them in their future college study. Progeny Press has not let me down yet as I've used several of their guides and plan to use a lot more over the next few years. Best way to dig deep and have an unforgettable experience with literature!

This is an excellent product for literary anyalsis of the play. It examines character qualities, provides prereading activites, scriptural applications, historical background, research and compostion projects as well as personal reflection. There is such an abundance of high level thinking activities, that you feel the liberty to pick and chosse which activities meet your time and focus requirements. While this was written for high school level, I used it with great success with my two middle schoolers, grades 6 and 8 (both previously exposed to Shakespeare). I will definitely use other products by this writer/publisher for my homeschool literature curriculum. As a former classroom teacher, I can see it being very successfully used in a traditional classroom setting as well. Thank you, Michael Gilleland, for such an excellent product that brings life and the biblical worldview to our litreature program!
