A very bland reading,

Of the four available recordings of <Macbeth> this is the second tamest. The Macbeth sounds never less than the perfect English gentleman and what we have is a very dignified reading of a play that should be dripping with blood and shouted in thunder. Go either for the recording on Harper Audio or the one on Penguin (the Arkangel series). This Modern Library would make a poor choice.
