This is a product you would buy but hope to never use. Im asked what would i have wanted to know before i bought this product? The information sheet tells me the unit will only alarm for 45 sec. after activation. I would want the unit to alarm for as long as the batteries last.
This is a good product for security at the price paid.

This product works exactly as described. It installs in under a minute, and is easy to use. It is sensitive enough that the alarm goes off if you bang the glass hard, but not so sensitive that there are false alarms.

My primary complaint is that the on-off switch is visible from the outside (instead of being hidden on the front of the unit) - so any would be burglar can easily see that it's not part of a full alarm system, and can easily be turned off. One work-around I've come up with for this is to place a large alarm warning decal on the other side of the window, which entirely hides the unit from view.

For a sub $10 product, I am very satisfied with it.

I am a single woman and I live on the ground floor of a condo building. I've got some hearing loss, and even though my 2 dogs would alert me if someone came in while I was asleep, I love having this alarm for extra security during the warm weather months when I crack the window for air. It is LOUD--loud enough for someone who has mild-moderate hearing loss to hear it! It doesn't go off for very long, but it gets the point across.

I both recommend and don't recommend this product at the same time. I give it a 4 overall based on effect, value, and price.

My alarm awoke me at 2:30am in the ground floor of an apt. to an attempted intrusion. It was loud enough to awake others in vicinity, and sent the intruder running. It protected me and my apt. while I was asleep. That alone was well worth it.

What I also wish to note, however. The adhesive backing (holding it to the window) can wear off over time. If it falls off the window, it emits a false alarm, and once it is off the window (if you don't notice it at a later time) it does you no good. I have seven of these units. Two of the seven units eventually fell off the window after a number of weeks. I tried to re-affix those two, but the backing wouldn't hold, and thus I needed to re-order two. Five of them have remained on their windows with no issue.

If you order these, make sure to check your window every once in a while to make sure they are in their respected location. Other than that, I approve. It protected me and my property!

I purchased a pair of these after a neighboring apartment/condo was broken into via a window. They work as advertised and I fortunately haven't had a "need" for them thus far, but the issue is that the adhesive on these things is terrible. After only 90 days or so both my units were sitting on the ground, with the 2-sided tape still stuck to the glass. I wasn't able to reattach them (although I probably could have with some super glue).

Probably worth a shot for the price, but you may need to address the adhesive issue if they fall off like mine did.
