Like most users, I've never had to use it in the situation for which it's intended, so I can't really speak to that. I can however give a brief comparison to most other pepper spray containers out there right now, and it stacks up very favorably.

The plastic holder has finger grooves, which is invaluable for getting the thing into firing position in the dark or in your pocket. It's compact enough to fit almost anywhere, although it adds unnecessary bulk if you put it on your key chain. The flip open cover is really easy to access, while still preventing accidental discharges.

If you're looking for something to keep your keys, you can do better than this product aesthetically with those common vinyl cased pepper sprays. However, I believe this dispenser offers superior protection because of its ease of draw and use. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that it's a bit too small for my tastes. I'd like enough in there so that I can give it a quick test and not feel like I've depleted the entire bottle.

Just wanted to let folks know, this is a rather smallish bottle. Another seller is selling a larger one. I think this one will be better for purses, jogging ladies, and so on. I carry the big bottle and my big mitts can conceal it pretty well but I don't think there are many ladies who could say the same.

From reviews I've read this stuff is supposed to be capable of chasing off grizzly bears. Like the other reviewer, I hope I never have to use it.
