Best value; but not optimal for machine pitch, April 16, 2011

I remain surprised at how expensive baseballs seem. If you don't shop around, it's very easy to end up paying $3-4 per ball. When you consider that anyone serious about baseball needs plenty of balls (i.e. to get plenty of repetitions) this becomes an issue.
The other reviews here are pretty much spot on. If you're just looking for standard baseball practice, you won't find a better deal than these. (Previously on Amazon, there had been an even better deal- a bucket containing 5 dozen of these balls; you have to find that elsewhere now). I don't doubt there are some subtle differences between these & the leather-covered balls, but for Little Leaguers...these are great. The bright green "practice" logo is a little over-the-top, but I suppose it might keep these from being accidentally introduced into a game.
There is one downside to these balls, as pointed out by another reviewer. When used in a pitching machine (e.g. a Jugs or ATEC machine) the synthetic cover peels off & sticks to the wheel of the machine. This is an irritation, & can't be good long-term for the machine; but I am willing to live with it because I can't stomach paying 2x the price for leather balls.

Very practical, January 27, 2010

What's to say. They are round, and white with red stitching. They react to bats with an equal and opposite reaction. Just as they should. Inexpensive and perfectly adequate.

Poor Quality, December 1, 2011

Baseballs are not holding up under moderate indoor use. Covers are splitting on a regular basis. I wouldn't purchase these again.
