4.0 out of 5 stars Very practical
What's to say. They are round, and white with red stitching. They react to bats with an equal and opposite reaction. Just as they should. Inexpensive and perfectly adequate.

3.0 out of 5 stars Best value; but not optimal for machine pitch
I remain surprised at how expensive baseballs seem. If you don't shop around, it's very easy to end up paying $3-4 per ball. When you consider that anyone serious about baseball needs plenty of balls (i.e. to get plenty of repetitions) this becomes an issue.

The other reviews here are pretty much spot on. If you're just looking for standard baseball practice,...

If you're just looking for standard baseball practice, you won't find a better deal than these. (Previously on Amazon, there had been an even better deal- a bucket containing 5 dozen of these balls; you have to find that elsewhere now). I don't doubt there are some subtle differences between these & the leather-covered balls, but for Little Leaguers...these are great. The bright green "practice" logo is a little over-the-top, but I suppose it might keep these from being accidentally introduced into a game.

There is one downside to these balls, as pointed out by another reviewer. When used in a pitching machine (e.g. a Jugs or ATEC machine) the synthetic cover peels off & sticks to the wheel of the machine. This is an irritation, & can't be good long-term for the machine; but I am willing to live with it because I can't stomach paying 2x the price for leather balls.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality, December 1, 2011

Baseballs are not holding up under moderate indoor use. Covers are splitting on a regular basis. I wouldn't purchase these again.

For those that need practice balls; this your ideal purchase. Reasonable while allowing your players the look and feel of the little league size baseballs at a fraction of the cost.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent price and they serve their purpose, February 24, 2011

I bought these balls in the 5 dozen bucket size. I'm in my 4th season of using these for my Little League team practices. All have held up great and these are a much better choice than some of the other cheap quality balls with plastic feel covers. No, they are not game ball quality but being able to buy 5 dozen balls with synthetic leather cover at about $1.40 each cannot be beat. Pitching machines work best with balls designed specifically for them which are not these.

2.0 out of 5 stars very hard for a kids' ball, June 25, 2011

I ordered these expecting them to be soft core baseballs, like my son's little league uses. These balls are hard as rocks. Not very safe for little kids.

Do not buy these balls for use with pitching machine. The cover comes off on the wheel. Spend the extra and get leather balls.
