Customer service reps were snotty and NOT helpful at all.

The user manual is a joke and has no troubleshooting section, which wouldn't have helped in my case anyway because there is some problem with the headphone jack.

I'm not even sure if the songs that I put on there would play at all.

I'm not picky about my electronics. All I want is a basic piece of equipment that does what it's supposed to do - I'm not interested in name brands, fancy touch screens or useless features. My last music player was the Phillips GoGear Vibe, which I got at Wal-Mart for $40. It lasted me for a year without any glitches and I thought it was a good product for the price. When I saw the Eclipse player at FYE for $30, I figured it would be similar - basic but functional.

The Eclipse player is total garbage. I can't believe I paid as much for it as I did... it's worth $10, not $30. It shuts down when I try to select songs from the music list. There's no shuffle option and it doesn't let you go back to the last song once you've hit forward. I absolutely hate the way it navigates.

FYE doesn't accept returns on opened items, only exchanges for the same product... like I would want to cash in for another one of these. I might as well have thrown $30 on the ground for somebody else to pick up. DO NOT BUY THIS! YOU'LL REGRET IT!

I don't ask for much out of an mp3 player, but I do expect to be able to hear vocals on the songs I play. The first time I purchased this product, this is the problem I had. The user manual is a joke and has no troubleshooting section, which wouldn't have helped in my case anyway because there is some problem with the headphone jack. The online solution (which was located through message boards, not from the manufacturer)said that something has to be re-soldered to fix it. So I exchanged it for the same product. The new one worked well for a couple of weeks, until I decided to change the play setting to shuffle. When I did this, the player completely froze and the Eclipse welcome screen stays on until the battery dies. It will not recharge at all and because of its design it is not possible to locate and remove/reinsert the battery to reset it. I will not be purchasing anything made by this company in the future. I know that there are other inexpensive mp3 players on the market that are better than this.

This MP2 player is USELESS. I bought it yesterday and loaded it up with songs. The intent was to have music to listen to while I was at work or working out. I followed the instructions to set everything up correctly, and it will not play more than one song at a time. If I skip through a few songs, it freaks out and reboots. I can only listen to 10 out of 200 songs I put on this stupid thing. I will be attempting to take it back tonight - and I will never buy this brand again. EVER.

It only took me a few minutes to figure out that this thing is a piece of junk. It feels cheap just holding it in your hand, the menus are terrible, and each time you select something it takes a second to process. The sound quality seems decent, but songs seem to skip on a regular basis, and every other one causes the thing to crash and restart. There are plenty of decent mp3 players in this price range, don't bother with this junk.

I would not recommend this product for any user. We purchased two of them for our children as Christmas gifts. By the day after Christmas, both were not working properly. Please do not attribute this to abuse received from the children. They were monitored closely while using these MP3 Players. The headphones for both of the items broke within one day. One of the MP3 players was completely in-operational within 24 hours. The buttons stuck and would not work. On the other, the 'shuffle' function did not work and it was very difficult to switch songs for some reason.

I am very comfortable with electronic gadgets and found these MP3 players to be difficult to navigate and use within the short period of time that they were actually operational.

We were very disappointed, as were the children with the quality of this product. I also was disappointed to find that I could not find any contact information for the manufacturer to report this quality issue.

Yes, this product isn't expensive, but I have bought other mp3 players for a low price and it was much more efficient.
I bought two of these; one as a gift to my brother.
The first day we were amazed at how the efficiency of this mp3 player didn't even match up to our phones.
I was using it at work at a quiet office environment. The moment I turned it on, music came blasting through my headphones.
Every time you turn the thing on it automatically sets the volume really high. The biggest problem here is that it shuts itself off once in while. So every time this happens and you turn it back on, you'll have louuuuud music pounding in your ears.
Two days later, my brother was using it while pulling an all nighter and didn't have time to charge it.
It ran out of battery. And since then, there has been no reviving it.
Wish I could give this item no stars, but 1 for having the capability to play music at all and also because amazon won't allow 0.

I bought this piece of crap at staples i just wanted something simple and easy to use so i can listen to my music and then bad luck made me pick this thing up, i get home rip it open and run upstairs to upload it with music well... after that i turn it on and it sounds pretty good then i switch songs and bam reboots itself i thought it was glitch or low battery so i charge it up then it does the same thing over and over again and now its just frozen at the eclipse logo and it's only the second day!
