Bottom line: It's a cheaply made product and not worth the money.

This allowed for random play in a specific folder, but the inability to shuffle all of the tracks (and repeating track 100 every couple of songs).

The manual says it charges for 1 hour and stays charged for 4 hours depending on usage.

I just purchased this product and after loading it with music I attempted to listen to the music on shuffle. It didn't shuffle all of the tracks, just a small subset of them (100 to be exact). I tried putting the music in folders (which was suggested but deemed not needed in the manual.) This allowed for random play in a specific folder, but the inability to shuffle all of the tracks (and repeating track 100 every couple of songs). I called customer service to let them know and see if they could troubleshoot me out. At first the representative called it *true random*. I explained to him that true random would not play the same song 8 times out of 20 with 1300 songs to choose from. He then reversed course and told me it was a very serious problem and to send it in to them. Since I purchased it yesterday and it came with a very serious problem it's just going to get returned. Don't bother with this player.

This played for a few hours when I first bought it. Then I charged it and it won't play for 30 minutes. No matter how long I charge it, it won't stay charged for 30 minutes. The manual says it charges for 1 hour and stays charged for 4 hours depending on usage. I have it at default settings. I've owned at least 14 mp3 players in my life & this is THE WORST ever.

It's useless.

It doesn't matter that it plays good sound. THEY ALL DO. It's useless cause it won't hold a charge, furthermore, what is depleting the battery?

I'll tell you. Hold an EMF detector up to it. This thing gives off a powerful & unhealthy EM field up to 6" away from it. This is unheard of. I always test all sorts of devices & this one's unique in that it gives off a hard spike of EM radiation every second or so & it's draining the battery & is a source of unhealthy EM radiation & don't tell me it has to be ionizing to be dangerous, cause that's bull. This little toy is dangerous & useless. The LCD screen came crooked too.

I thought that I'd get this instead of spending the cash on an iPod... it seemed like a steal at under 15 bucks and boy was it! The problem is that I was the one that had something stolen. It never worked and even though there is a reset button it never did anything but sit there like a tiny little lump and mock me. Junk.

I bought this 4GB ECLIPSE CLD MP3 player in July so I thought I'd try it. Big mistake. As another reviewer noted, the "shuffle" feature selects 3 or 4 tunes out of hundreds and repeats them over and over. Nothing I could do would fix the problem. Also, I find it difficult if not impossible to locate an album or title as the screen is tiny and the controls are not very intuitive. Now the display screen, which was pretty poor to begin with, is just a series of dashes and dots scrolling by. The whole unit is completely unusable. I have barely used this thing. Save your money.

I have had this product for over a year now. I have not had any problems with it working. The battery still lasts about 6 hours, and since I mainly use it during 1 hour workouts several days a week that is fine for my needs and not a big deal to recharge. The clip is very convenient.

The big disappointment is the shuffle feature. I have 670 songs but the shuffle feature only seems to "find" 8-10 of them at a time. For example, during my workout I'd expect to hear 10-15 different songs, but I may hear 7 or eight before I get a repeat. In addition, there are some songs I seem to hear every workout, and others that that *never* been played even though they have been on the device for over a year. Yes, I know I could make folders, But that limits the shuffle to a single folder and I'd rather shuffle among all of my songs.

In my view, it has worked fine for limited usage, but only if you want to listen to a few songs - which defeats the purpose of providing 4GB of storage.

I was looking for an MP3 player to use while working in the yard and riding my 4-wheeler, price was an issue so the search was on,. I tried friends ipods and nano's,. very nice but pricey, this little 4GB Eclipse has great sound,. more than enough storage for a days riding, and it rivals the nano in sound clarity, add the neat clip feature and theres no need worry about loosing it even under rough conditions and the simple drag and drop loading made filling it with my favorite music a snap. For the price I give it a 9 out of 10 and for the sound quality I give it a 10 out of 10. Buy with confidence. Rock On!! : )

I received this product today to find half of the buttons not working. I cannot bring up the menu or change the volume or song without having to madly jam on the buttons... Piece of garbage and it's going right back to where it came from, I understand that it is cheap but I expect it to work for at least a month or it is just robbery...
