Excellent Shoe Gaze, August 30, 2001
This review is from: Macha Loved Bedhead Loved Macha (Audio CD)
I like this album more than anything else Macha or Bedhead has done. The first four tracks are excellent and sort of remind me of Yo La Tengo's latest album, (And Then Nothing Turns Itself Inside Out or something) The ambient tracks set a great mood. You'll laugh and cry at the last track which is cover of Cher's Believe complete with syllable-for-syllable vocorder matching. All in all one of the best droning shoe-gaze albums of which I am aware.

A CD for some good and nice musical landscape(s), October 5, 2002
This review is from: Macha Loved Bedhead Loved Macha (Audio CD)
First of all, this CD is to be listened to with a nice pair of headphones. Get them, put them on, close your eyes, let the music get inside you and then you will hear / experience / love all of its tiny sounds, the lushy guitars and voices making a simple, while mesmerizing, musical landscape(s). That's the point, you'll experience a nice voyage. And believe me, after you listen to this CD you will, like I did, ask yourself why you haven't heard this before. So, check this out. Enjoy.

86 abstract scars-turned-beauty-marks, June 15, 2000
This review is from: Macha Loved Bedhead Loved Macha (Audio CD)
Extraordinary textures ("Never Underdose") and subtle humor ("Believe") further convince me that Macha is the most innovative band writing and playing songs today, and that Bedhead, who (as Salon put it) "succumbed to day jobs," were absolutely amazing as well. Macha Loved Bedhead, Bedhead Loved Macha is a correspondence in the vapors . . . 86 abstract scars, er, songs, built into beauty marks. Bedhead and Macha have always respected each other, so when Bedhead sent songs to Macha, Macha lovingly completed them. The result is an art installation of the alien fragments among us: transient relationships seen from afar, devastating loss, and a scathingly hilarious remake of Cher's "Believe" whipped into a truly mesmerizing concoction . . . a truly rich and beautiful release.
