Easy instructions for the quilting impaired!,
By Connie R. Clements (Bedias, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Machine Quilting Made Easy (Paperback)
I'm a self taught quilter who had almost given up on machine quilting! Ms. Nobles walks the reader through the process of various types of quilting patterns with step-by-step instructions. She privdes the reader with information on needle types, use of different threads. What I appreciated most was that the book encouraged me to continue to work on new techniques and not give up when I didn't master it the first time. This book has greatly enchanced my quilting skills!

Excellent. Very helpful book!,
This review is from: Machine Quilting Made Easy (Paperback)
I thought I could never learn to machine quilt, but this book lives up to its name--Machine Quilting MADE EASY. I bought it when it was new and refer to it over and over. There are easy-to-understand directions, fun exercises to practice on, and charts of needles that go with specific threads. The author is very encouraging that all it takes is practice and YOU CAN DO IT, TOO!

Excellent BEGINNING Machine Quilter Resource,
By
This review is from: Machine Quilting Made Easy (Paperback)
If you can only get 5 books to teach you all about quilting, this should be one of the 5. It is an excellent source for a new to quilting-TOTALLY beginner. As the other reviews here say, if you have some machine quilting under your belt (hands) than this will somewhat be redundant.
The way the book is laid out and written is superb. Easy to understand in laymans terms, very good glossary and again as mentioned in one other review, the thread and needle charts are very good and pertinent to continuing up the ladder in machine quilting. This book gives you step by step detailed instruction like following a pattern. The pictures are clear and just what she is talking about, you don't have to decipher anything. If you know someone who is wanting to start machine quilting or you are going to self-teach yourself this art. This is the book to buy. Best quilting wishes. AKquiltr

While this book is not for an experienced quilter, it is perfect for the first timer. This is a book to learn from and while it doesn't have many patterns, the ones it does have are quite good. The beauty of this book is that they have covered everything, even including a chart with every major thread type along with an evaluation of the thread use. The pictures are not elaborate yet they allow you to understand exactly what you need to. A good reference/source book with step by step instructions for all of the techniques.

No more hesitation!,

After viewing amazing art quilts for years at fairs and exhibits, I wanted an attempt at my own. This book was recommended in more than one place, so I chose it along with three other art quilt books. This, by far, has been the most useful tool in my new hobby of machine quilting. Ms. Noble makes it easy to follow each of the steps to get you quilting. One part of this book that stands out is the small tips & hints peppered throughout her succinct text. Also, I am sure the threads and materials grids have saved me hundreds of dollars in "testing" thread and accessories.
As a mom of twins with her own business, I never thought I'd find the time to quilt - however, this book is so well done, it inspired and coached me to a proud result (see customer images). Thanks to Maurine Noble!

Machine quilting takes practice... This book presents the beginnner good exercises to start on the journey of learning how to machine quilt..however,if you have already done some machine quilting, and are not a brand new beginner, don't bother to buy this book..buy Harriet Hargrove's book, or Sue Nickel's book, or Diane Gaudynski's book to really help you in learning free motion quilting beyond the basics.

This is a wonderful addition to any craft library for either the novice or even those who want to sharpen up their skills or just review their techniques. Easy to read and follow. I would recommend this to anyone who loves to quilt, wants to learn, or even as a special gift for that deserving loved one.

Machine Quilting Made Easy-Excellent Book!,
This review is from: Machine Quilting Made Easy (Paperback)
I purchased this book because I'm taking a 2-day machine quilting class from Paula Reid & it was recommended reading by her. This book is full of useful information for different styles of quilting and there are exercises to try. Also included in the back of the book is alot of information about different types of threads and needles. I'm thrilled to own this book and look forward to the class even more.
