Product Description
The Breadboard Microcontroller Starter Kit provides everything you need to get started in the exciting world of microcontroller programming. With this kit, you will master the basics of circuit design, create a programmable circuit on the breadboard, and learn to use Machine Science's on-line programming interface. Light LEDs, gather button input, make sounds from a speaker, display text on an LCD, even make a digital thermometer. The Starter Kit also makes a great controller for Machine Science's robotics projects. This kit even includes four rechargeable AA batteries.
(NOTE: The batteries may be charged with any four-cell AA Ni-MH charger. Alkaline may be substituted with the addition of a 5V regulator, which is included in the kit.)

This kit brought me right back to some of the college projects that I worked on 20 years ago. One of the great things about this kit is that you can download your routines directly to the microcontroller with the included USB connection. The free online projects are easy to follow and offer up some really cool projects that will help stimulate your mind and give anyone a better understanding as to what all those little colored bits are and do on a circuit board.Pick up MAKE: Electronics: Learning Through Discovery along with this kit for a super cool kit introducing kids and adults alike to the world of electronics.

no need for charger,

just use regular batteries if you don't have/want to buy a charger.
no need to pay extra for a charger for those of us that already have one. description implies it comes without a charger: it says batteries can be charged with standard charger...

For $100 they don't even include the battery charger thats required to use the thing. I waited a week eagerly to get this breadboard setup kit only to find out I had to drop another $25 to get a battery charger in order to do any projects.
