5.0 out of 5 stars Maris was good
Mackenzie's magic is the first and only book by Linda Howard which is translated to finnish. absolutely the best scene is about these five Mackenzie's standing there and watching the Maris husband. Then comes Mary and takes care of the situation. And what do these big guys say: Yes ma'am. Like in the old times at school.

3.0 out of 5 stars We love Linda Howard, but...
this book, was not what we expected after reading all the fine-work she has done over the past years. L.H. Could have made these two storys so much more indepth but frankly, she wasted the life of Maris, and didn't do much better with Zane Mackenzie. We hope that infuture, if decides to continue writing about the Mackenzie family, she makes their lives much more...

After reading Magic in finnish, I read Mackenzie family in english (...and then Kell Sabin, Medina...). Think about Maris. She is got a warrior as a father and as a brother. She can't fall in love with the ordinary guy, so she finds a FBI-agent. Sure The beginning of the book was excellent. "Hi, I am sleeping with an almost naked hunk in some hotel room, I can't remember a thing. We have stolen a horse." Then she notices that the hunk wears boxer underwear, nothing white in cotton. And knows he is a cop. Absolutely hilarious.

Zane and Barrie fall in love in a day. Characters were good and there were enough adventure. Zane is a typical alpha-male warrior who wants to protect his woman and his child. YESSSSS!

can I give them more stars ;-).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, December 21, 1999
By A Customer

In truth, Maris's story (the second one) sucks. It was rushed and didn't contain the dynamo sex scenes that most Howards have. HOWEVER, Zane's story more than makes up for what Maris's lacks. His story was Howard at her best ... and if you're a Howard fan, you know how good she can be!

Also, Chance is a figure in both stories. Since his book is due to be out in August, Maris's story is worth reading because of the background it gives you on this adopted - sexy - brother.

5.0 out of 5 stars Zane Mackenzie, January 6, 2001

I fell in love with Zane Mackenzie! The way Mrs. Howard kept me spellbound from beginning to end really got me interested in her other books. Of all the Mackenzie books, this one is by far the best. The other about Maris was okay, but it is Zane's story that I can read and reread several times! Thank you Linda Howard for introducing me to Zane! Please keep the Mackenzie books coming!

I stumbled across this book and was so enthralled with the MacKenzie family that I went on a personal mission to find the original 2 books about Wolf & Joe. I adore Linda Howard's style and her detail in characters. Granted she could have written 300+ more pages about Zane, Maris or Chance and I would still be reading!! LINDA - you must write about Chance MacKenzie---SOON PLEASE, I'm in lust with this character!!

Mackenzie's Mountain & Mackenzie's Mission are out of print from what Amazon tells me. But they are Silhouette Intimate Moments -- maybe enough requests will generate a reprint but this series is a definite keeper/collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, June 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Mackenzie Family: Mackenzie's Pleasure and Mackenzie's Magic (Paperback)
This book contains both MACKENZIE'S PLEASURE (Zane MacKenzie) and MACKENZIE'S MAGIC (Maris MacKenzie). I think both books are great, and they've been out of print for a long time, and you should get a copy of this edition which contains both books.

The Mackenzie's family is absoulutely amazing. I have read some of the books about Wolf, Chance and Joe. I can't wait to get my hands on the other ones. These books are a must read. You won't be able to put them down. Linda Howard is the best and far most execellent writer I ever had the privilege to read her work. I only hope they keep coming.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've fallen in love with the Mackenzies!, March 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Mackenzie Family: Mackenzie's Pleasure and Mackenzie's Magic (Paperback)
Linda Howard is by far my favorite author. I will pick up a book just because she is the author because I know that I will absolutely love it. I have read every MacKenzie story from Wolf to Maris and I can't wait for Chance's story to come out. Linda Howard's books grab you and won't let you go until you have finished the book and then you want to read it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, Brilliant, Stunning..., January 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Mackenzie Family: Mackenzie's Pleasure and Mackenzie's Magic (Paperback)
Linda Howard has been one of my favorite authors for a number of years but the Mackenzie family saga is her best work. I loved Wolf and Mary, and adored Joe and Caroline. So when I saw that Zane and Maris got there own stories I was on pins and needles until the book was in my hand!

Two hours of pure bliss! That family is amazing and the books are keepers!

One more thing, I NEED for there to be a story about Chance. With a lot of Nick peppered in for comic relief. Maybe Nick will get her own story someday (hint, hint Linda;-))
