5.0 out of 5 stars The MacKenzie Series: Can't Wait for Novel 5 !!!!, August 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Mackenzies (Mackenzie's Mountain and Mackenzie's Mission) (Paperback)
Come on Linda, bring on Chance's story!!! Starting with Wolf (Mackenzie's Mountain), then his children Joe (MacKenzie's Mission), Zane (MacKenzie's Pleasure) and Maris (MacKenzie's Magic), the series brings together strong passionate men with women who are more than a match for them. The heroines are likeable, and I believe most of us can identify with at least one of them. As for the MacKenzie men, I agree with a previous reviewer - Where can I get one of my own!?! Let's hope that Linda Howard writes brother Chance's story soon......

Okay, Chance's book has been published since I wrote this review. Do yourself a favor, and read this one too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mackenzies Mission and Mackenzies Mountain, January 8, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Mackenzies (Mackenzie's Mountain and Mackenzie's Mission) (Paperback)
These 2 books were just great when I first read them. I had to read them over again just to embrace the feel of these two wonderful and different individuals. I have also read "Zacks" story Mackenzie's Pleasure, which left me hungry for "Chance's" story which will be a great one also. If you like the Mackenzies as much as I do, you also need to read Christmas Kisses, which has a story by Ms. Howard about the Mackenzie's baby sister Maris. I hope everyone enjoys these stories as much as I have. Happy reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars SO GOOD!!, March 26, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Mackenzies (Mackenzie's Mountain and Mackenzie's Mission) (Paperback)
Wolf stole my breath and Joe stole my heart. Then I read Christmas Kisses with Maris' story and I became committed to the whole family. Zane's story is next! These weren't my first Linda Howard stories but they are the ones that got me hooked. I'm convinced she can't write a bad book!

I read these books this past weekend! Joe and Wolf are a man's man and a woman's ideal man. I loved them! I couldn't get enough. I was only disappointed when they ended. These books made me hunger for the other family members!

5.0 out of 5 stars Where can I get one of these MacKenzies?!?!?, May 7, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: The Mackenzies (Mackenzie's Mountain and Mackenzie's Mission) (Paperback)
Every once in a while you find a 'keeper,' a book that you don't lend out and you read over and over again, and no matter what is going on, when you're done reading a 'keeper' you feel that warm sense of satisfaction deep inside. I felt this way about Linda Howard's MacKenzie books. Wolf was a man in a million, and you had this feeling that Joe was definitely going to walk in his father's footsteps - and he did! The female characters, Mary and Caroline are both fiesty, challenging and hold their own against the MacKenzie men!

The books move quickly and her characters are well defined with distinctive personalities and depth. Wolf MacKenzie gave me tingles, Joe 'Breed' MacKenzie made me fly, and I can't wait for the next one! When I finished MacKenzie's Mountain, I didn't think any story could top it; and then I went right into MacKenzie's Mission and found it even better!

Linda Howard's MacKenzie books stand in a class of their own. She brings her characters alive with action, passion and emotions. When you read one of her books, you leave the real world behind and become a part of the story. Be careful though, this book is one of those 'just one more page' books, until you realize that you're at the end of the book!

This review is from: The Mackenzies (Mackenzie's Mountain and Mackenzie's Mission) (Paperback)
Wolf Mackenzie, being half Indian-Anglo, struggles to maintain his low key profile in a town where he is not accepted by its white inhabitants. His low key profile is abliterated when new teacher comes to town and changes his life forever. This is a really sensual read and it's kind of fun.
