I love this carrier. It's not only comfortable for me and baby, but it's safer and cheaper than the Baby Bijorn. The only con I have noticed is that the "infant pod" insert says it should be used for babies weighing up to 12 pounds. My daugher is 3 months old and 11lbs and I can barely get her in it, yet she's not big enough to use the leg straps without it. She doesn't appear to be uncomfortable or fuss, though. So, it's apparently just a matter of me feeling guilty for cramming her in! Fits my husband great, too!

Update: I may have spoken too quickly. My daughter is now 5 months old and weight just over 15 lbs. Neither me (5'6") nor my husband (5'11") can wear this for more than a 10 minute walk w/o it killing our backs. I also ditto the other reviewers' comments about the baby hanging low and her feet hitting my legs as we walk.

I tried several carriers before finally trying the Mclaren carrier. This product has saved my life! The pod the carrier came with was perfect when my son was under 11 lbs and all the others carriers looked like they were going to eat him alive. Now that he has grown out of the pod he still loves being in this carrier. It is also so easy to snap him in this carrier. I defininitely recommend this carrier over all others!

This is a good product, however I did not like it at first. We tried to put my baby in this after she was about a week old and I was afraid she would suffocate in it. Her head would flop to my chest and I couldn't tell if she was getting enough air. Also the straps would leave marks all over her tiny head. Now that she is bigger, this works great. She is able to hold her head up now so I do not have any problems. I also love the material on this, it is so much softer than other carriers. All in all this is a good product. I received it as a gift and probably would not have purchased it on my own.

My family and I just got back from Disneyland... after 2 days of carring our 2 month old, we had such a good experience with this carrier I told my Hubby I'd leave a positive message!
It's super easy to use, the material is ultra soft, neither of us had "back problems", and most of all our Daughter loves it. She looks SO comfortable that I'm jealous.
I love it way more then my Bjorn that I had with my first! Hope my review helps... Happy Mommy

I have this carrier and also the Snugli front and backpack carrier (both were gifts). The snugli is about half the price and has a back support strap which is nice, but is slightly trickier to hook the baby into. The Maclaren is simple to hook the baby into, especially after they are big enough to use without the infant pod, but I also noticed the other day (the first time I used it without the pod) that my daughters feet were hanging so low, i was bumping her legs with every step. All in all, I'd say it's nice, but for the price, I'd stick with the snugli.

We were given this carrier as a gift. My husband is 5 ft 10, and I am 5 ft 2. My husband wore this carrier on a two hour walk, and his back was in agony afterwards. I cannot wear this carrier for more than an hour, without having a sore back for the whole next day. Part of the problem is that the straps won't adjust to bring the baby higher. I see other moms with the Baby Bjorn, and their babies look so snug and comfortably high up on their chests, while my baby is swaying, and so low down that her legs are kicking against mine as I walk. My husband can usually fix anything. He is a great handyman, but we cannot get these straps to shorten. I will phone Maclaren and see what advice they can offer. If things change, I'll change my review.

This is the only carrier that I found approved by the JPMA. It is designed with safety and comfort in mind. It is easy to get my son into and out of and he is very comfortable while in it. I love that the buckles are placed where no weight will be directly on them yet they are convenient to reach. The special infant pod is wonderful. I don't worry about him shifting around. My son still faces in but I am sure that when he can face out that he will love seeing what mom is doing.

We tried to use this several times with my daughter (now 5 months old)and she screamed each time. I kept thinking that maybe she was too little, but the carrier just never held her properly. She always seemed to be too low in the carrier and she would want to chew on the straps. I thought that she just may not like carriers, but I bought the Bjorn and she abosolutely loves it! Now that we have used both, there are some serious differences in the way the baby is held and this carrier just does not get it done - at least for us. Also - the difference in the back pressure is unreal...this one really did hurt my back and she is only 14.4 lbs.

I was very please with this carrier. I am plus sized (14/16) and it fit wonderfully (my hubby even wore it once!). It is very soft and really nice. A+++ in my book!
