5.0 out of 5 stars Way more comfortable than a bouncy seat!! Also bed/travel bed.
This is an excellent product. My baby slept in it every nap and every night til she grew out of the weight limit (9 months but she is a big baby). This is an excellent product. My baby slept in it every nap and every night til she grew out of the weight limit (9 months but she is a big baby). It is extremely comfortable and the padding kind of encloses or holds the baby. It is much more comfortable than a bouncy seat. My baby was not a good sleeper yet she slept best in the McClaren Rocker. So much so that we started using it at night. This would be especially good for a baby that has acid reflux and maybe colic too. My baby slept better being slightly upright. It is extremely solid and well built. However, I simply took the toy bar off, so I cannot comment on the toy bar's use. There is also a bar that flips out that stops the rocker from rocking, but I never used it as I found the product to be very stable. Only when my baby approached the weight limit (ie 19 lbs) did it rock when I put her in it. It is also an excellent travel bed as it folds in half. Maybe it is a bit big for a suitcase if flying, but very easy to put in a car for a car trip.
I came on line to buy one for my cousin and noticed the very poor review given by one costumer. I couldn't disagree more. The reason I wanted to buy it for my cousin is because of the many baby products I have used in the past year this was the most valuable purchase I made.

5.0 out of 5 stars love it, May 26, 2009

This was a gift and it has been an amazing piece of equipment in the baby world. Love it. I was able to use it as a intermediate high chair, a lounger for sleeping and we use it outside often. Very versatile

5.0 out of 5 stars Best piece of equipment I own!, September 1, 2009
I have a slightly older model of this chair (2005) and am using it with our second child. It is an outstanding piece of equipment. I've never even used the vibration mode, neither baby seemed to need it. It reclines far enough that both babies have napped well in it during the day. It is also upright enough to help a baby with reflux lie a little upright after eating to reduce vomiting. I slide mine all through the house so the baby can join me in any room. It folds in half for easy travel and we do bring ours lots of places. My only criticism is that the toy bar on my model is not adjustable and is attached to the hood permanently. Not a problem for us as we don't use either piece. The fabric wipes clean pretty well. For a young infant I use this more than any other piece of equipment and I highly recommend it. However, try other websites...I paid about $45 for mine!

5.0 out of 5 stars The only thing baby sat in first 2-3 months!, September 17, 2008

We got all sorts of things for my baby girl and she seem to hate them all - the only thing she was comfortable in was this bouncer rocker. I barely used the shade with toys and the brown part that looks like a handle is not a handle. The handle for this bouncer is two large straps that wrap all the way around (underneath the bouncer), so you can move your baby around with ease.

Again, the part that looks like a handle (attached to the visor/shade) with toys is not a handle. Of course if you pull on this part, it will come off - it is not meant to be a handle.

We used this bouncer with joy and it is well built. You can fold it with ease by unsnapping the side snaps (large plastic snaps) and fold. It fits underneath her crib when we need to hide it and unfolding is very easy. Also the metal "feet" underneath the bouncer/rocker lifts when rocking is not wanted. This makes the unit a plain bouncer.

I have never felt that this product was dangerous and the seat straps are durable and held my girl in place.

Since my girl was 10 lbs at birth, we went through this bouncer fast, but I am so thankful that we had it during the first 3 months. I was able to shower since I could carry this into the bathroom and bring her to kitchen etc. when I needed to do work.

The brown and pink color is extremely attractive and I have gotten so many comments when people visited us.

Hope this helps.

Added: If I get some time, I will snap some pictures of this rocker for you all.

5.0 out of 5 stars The One Piece of Baby Gear we Couldn't Live Without, December 29, 2011
Our son loved this thing from day 1. It was the only place he would fall asleep for months! Now that he is a little older (4 months) we use it as a chair. This is great because it is very portable (slides easily). We also used it as a travel bed. Great piece if gear. I did remove all of the restraints though, and usually had a blanket over it.

Amazing rocker/chair! My husband and I call this the "magic chair." Both my son and daughter absolutely loved this chair. As soon as I would put them in it, they would fall asleep. I used this everywhere-- inside, outside, for travel. My daughter is a restless sleeper, but as soon as I put her in it and gave it a few rocks with my foot she nods off to sleep. I cannot say enough. It's very durable so you'll be able to keep your child in it for a while. My daughter is 18 pounds and it still is very sturdy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Baby LOVES it, mom & dad love it!, June 11, 2010
This seat is by far the best baby product we own, and the most useful next to our baby's pack n' play. My daughter has been sleeping in her rocker since the day we came home from the hospital, and when she's fussy it's the ONLY place she'll lay back and get some rest. She very much prefers the rocker over her cradle swing.

On top of the fact that the baby loves it, the chair is beautiful and has a durable feel that the other vibrating seats lacked.

We love the canopy for indoors and out, I never have to worry about disturbing her sleep if the sun starts shining through the windows. She seems to like the enclosed feel as well.

The toybar is rather useless, but it's easy enough to just leave out. I believe older models had the canopy and toy bar connected, but this is no longer the case. You can remove the toybar and still keep the canopy.

As for 'rocking', I've found that if I position the baby correctly (high enough in the seat), it will rock on its own - but if she's slouching it will not. Even her newborn squirms were plenty to make the seat rock as long as her head was close to the head positioner.

Needless to say we love this product and would recommend it to anyone.

3.0 out of 5 stars Stylish - yes. Practical - NO, April 5, 2010

hello - I bought this for the name and the stylish look... honestly - I NEEVR use it. It is down in the basement storage and I think I used it twice. The baby was bored with it. At 5 months he started to rock around but honestly it is hard to fold up, the strapos are strangly placed and in my opinion a choking hazzard. I ended up buying a fisherprice bouncy traditional seat with colrs and music etc and my son LOVES it. It was also a 1/4 of the cost. So Figured Id share my feedback. For those PRACTICAL moms that prefer usability vs stylish modern black/beige colors look at another chair. babiues prefer to "bounce" than to rock around. Also FYI for the rocker lovers - watch your baby - the seta moves a lot if they rock to hard and near stairs or a landing is a danger.

5.0 out of 5 stars toddler still using it!, December 3, 2009

(REAL NAME)
I opted for this chair over the cheaper chairs and don't regret it. Although the majority of the time, I held my baby, this rocker was handy as a bed when traveling, a a little napper or soother, and now as a little chair for my toddler (18 mo) I should probably check the weight limit. However, it's so well built and close to the ground that I am not worried. Such longevity for a baby item! BTW, the toy bar is not a handle - it's stated clearly on the rocker an with the paperwork. The bar is clearly clipped onto the chair and not intended for transport of the chair.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bad harness, November 19, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The harness on this rocker (the reason I bought it was for the shoulder straps) is awful. The straps are connected so high up that they are level with the baby's face and they are tightened all the way and still they are so loose they just hang there. I don't understand why the straps are like that - they should be at or below shoulder height. Don't waste your money on this product.
