Maclaren Techno XLR Stroller, Black/Champagne

First off I have to say this is one of the most gorgeous strollers Ive ever seen. Other pros:
Its very comfortable and my son loves to relax in this stroller, the extra cushion makes it very plush. Its easy to recline, the canopy is easy to adjust and is huge. The height adjustable handles are easy to move up and down. The buckle is very secure and my extra smart child can't get out without my letting him out which is great.

Cons: As with most umbrella style strollers the basket is hard to access, also the leg extenders are hard to pull forward. It is a hefty umbrella style stroller at 16 lbs but its easy to maneuver.

Baby is due next month and my wife and I just received this beautiful stroller in 2 days because of prime membership. It comes with the car seat adapter bar and a rain protector. The stroller opens and closes easily. The only complaint is that when the stroller closes, there is a handle which holds onto a screw. I think it wouldve been better to make this handle grip onto the frame itself. I have tried installing a graco snugride seat onto the included car base adapter. It feels loose until the straps are attached to make the car seat stable. Seems like a lot of work to attach a car seat but its worth it since the stroller is so nice to use. Its very smooth to operate. We plan on keeping this stroller in the car to use when required. Will review again once we use this stroller daily.

I've had this stroller for 2 years. It's endured 14 domestic flights with me and my 2 year old, and one International flight. It folds amazingly, and easy to lift. It fits into any door. You can turn it very easily with one hand (and we all know how much of a plus that is). It is definitely a must stroller!!!!

We've owned six (6) MacLaren strollers, including this one.

In spite of the recall, we felt confident in buying another MacLaren for the arrival of our fourth child - and in fact purchased this for the car seat adapter, something MacLaren had never provided in the past.

We used a Graco car seat, the exact model specified on the MacLaren materials and website. The bar that attaches to support the car seat was only initially tight-fitting, and within the first month of use it snapped off multiple times, causing the car seat to nearly fall to the ground. (Thankfully the belt was very firmly attached, so the baby was not injured.) The seat adapter *was* installed exactly as the directions advised, and my engineer husband even tried to determine a better/safer means of using this.

Additionally, the stroller is wobbly; not stable as our other MacLarens have been, and the side 'lock' that is to keep it closed when folded frequently comes unlatched.

My REAL frustration came when I contacted MacLaren customer support. A 'gentleman' asked me what model of car seat I was trying to install. When I replied that it was a MacLaren-approved Graco model, his response was a request for me to send them the stroller AND the car seat for inspection. Like many families, we have ONE car seat, so it seemed that MacLaren arrogantly expected us to go purchase another while they tried to place blame on another manufacturer's product?

The car seat was (is) in excellent condition, and in fact works beautifully with the UppaBaby Vista that we purchased after the MacLaren nearly dumped our baby on the ground on numerous occasions.

We've yet to receive any form of resolution from MacLaren.

I want to share my experience with Mac Laren XLR and the customer service. I bought an XLR for my firstborn 4 years ago. The reason I got the XLR was because of the travel system. I was extremely happy with its ease of move and lightweight and we used the car seat adjustment bar with our Graco car seat. I didn't like the storage but we ended up hanging our baby bag to the back.

When I got pregnant last year, I went to Baby's R Us and bought the same model car seat from Graco to use with my XLR (We used friend's Graco car seat back when we had our first baby) I asked the representatives at Baby's R Us and they told me model was compatible with XLR.
After having our baby, we started using our XLR again. Even though I was not so happy to hear about the recall, I called and got my adjustment piece from Mac Laren.

On December 29th, 2011, we had an unfortunate accident. When we were shopping at a department store, all of a sudden my baby's car seat fell out with my baby in it from the stroller. A man next to me ran for help as I was in shock to find my baby on the floor in his car seat sideways. If two minutes ago his grandmother didn't buckle him up, he could have flied out from the car seat to the floor and a terrible accident could have happened.
I came home and did some research to find some parents had the same incident. I contacted Mac Laren immediately on the night, but I wasn't sure if I would get a respond back.

After the holidays, not only I got an e-mail, I also got a phone call from England from Mim Davies. She told me that they would like to investigate my stroller and ask me to send it to them with the provided UPS shipping. I told her that I didn't have any spare one, she immediately arranged a loaner Mac Laren stroller.

I received my brand new loaner and send mine to the factory for investigation. When they got the results, Mim called me to let me know about the results. She informed me that the Graco has changed its model and the new one wasn't supported with the Techno XLR. She said they test models and specify them on their manual. Even though the car seat I purchased wasn't in their supported list (same name, different model number), she still offered to get me a new Techno XLR.
All along the transaction, she was sincerely sorry and expressed her sympathy every time. She was really professional and extremely helpful. I think you cannot get a better customer care than this.

I think Techno SLR is a brilliant stroller but I would not use it with a car seat. We could have had a horrible accident with an unimaginable outcome if my baby fell out of the stroller onto a street. If you decide to use it with a car seat, please contact Mac Laren or read your manual really carefully to make sure your car seat has been tested with the model you got.

I do not suggest buying this stroller if you live in the city. I live in Manhattan and the wheels started to squeak after I pushed it over potholes. Also, you really have to push the stroller in order for it to move. The harness straps are a disappointment. It is hard to press the button to unlock and the shoulder straps loosen every time my son leans forward. As a result his upper torso is no longer strapped in. If you must get a Maclaren stroller, maybe the Quest and Triumph are better.

My husband has a bad back and I had a c-section so neither of us wanted a heavy stroller but we wanted to make sure we got something that would hold up. This stroller fits the bill perfectly. Both of us can easily get it in and out of our trunk with ease and it folds up in seconds. We both like how the seat back has multiple positions, just be aware that you can't get to the storage basket when the seat is reclined and the stroller folds up best when the seat back is fully upright. Other than that, I have no complaints at all.

I was shopping around for a new carriage I liked the maclaren black and champagne color but of course wanted to pay the cheapest price. Here on amazon.com it was the cheapest and fastest service as usual! Its a very nice carriage my daughter loves it

Nice product just a little confusing how to asamble the parts and also how to unfolded.

Its a great stroller. The only problem, although explicitly mentioned on the maclaren website, a car seat adapter was not a part of the package. Amazon could not resolve the issue but generously offered a replacement. However, even the replacement did not have a car seat adapter. Frustrated, I returned both and went to a Maclaren outlet in NYC. The store person told me that although the car seat adapter is included in price worldwide, for some legal reason, it isn't in US. He recommended, I could get it separately from the stroller if I desired. This was a simple piece of information, which if amazon had communicated with me, I would not have needed to return the stroller twice. Anyway, I bought both the stroller and the car seat adapter from the outlet and am happy with it. Basically, the item is great but it would be more helpful had amazon included this detail in its product description.
