3.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful content, flawed delivery, March 25, 2004

I have a strong love/hate relationship with this book. I use it daily, and it holds place of honor on my desk, for it CONTAINS everything you need to know about ColdFusion.

But USING it is another matter. This volume would be far more usable had the book design team realized they were publishing a reference book. There are no page headers, so readers must fumble through pages looking for entries, some of the starting a mere 4 lines from the bottom of the page. Buy it, and use it. And weep.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful, but could use better examples., November 22, 2001
This review is from: Macromedia Coldfusion 5 Language Reference (Paperback)
While this reference contains all the functions/tags/variables/etc. used in ColdFusion, the book could use better/innovative examples. At first glance, I was surprised at the size of the book. How can someone fit so much in such a small book? Then I decided to browse through it and noticed that examples were the size of a bacteria, especially for those on functions. I would've loved if the book had better and more innovative examples, rather than the way it's currently presented. However, the book is still VERY useful for a quick reference. It's a good price too. I recommend it.

As a long time Cold Fusion developer, remembering syntax for every tag and function is almost impossible. This little book is great a great reference for quick lookups of tags & functions. A must buy for the serious Cold Fusion developer.
