About the Author

Joyce J. Evans is a training veteran with over 10 years experience in educational teaching, tutorial development, and web design. She has been asked to speak at conferences such as Macromedia MAX 2003 and TODCON, and has authored books including Macromedia Studio MX Bible, Dreamweaver MX Complete Course, Web Design Complete Course, Fireworks MX Zero to Hero, and Dreamweaver in 10 Steps or Less.

Joyce is a Team Macromedia Volunteer and her work is also featured in the Macromedia Design/Developer center, the MX Developers Journal magazine, and the Macromedia Edge newsletter. Her personal web site is JoyceJEvans.com and she also runs Idea Design with clients such as Century 21, a prominent college in Florida. She is also a subcontractor for a local service provider along with actively teaching new students on how to use the Macromedia Studio products.

Charles E. Brown is one of the most noted authors and teachers in the computer industry today. His first two books, Beginner Dreamweaver MX and Fireworks MX Zero to Hero, have received critical acclaim and are consistent bestsellers. In early 2004, Dr. Brown will be releasing books on VBA for Microsoft Access, and the new Microsoft FrontPage environment. He is also a Fireworks MX contributor for the MX Developer’s Journal. In addition to his busy writing schedule, he conducts frequent seminars for the PC Learning Center. His topics include Java Programming, using the Macromedia Studio MX environment, and the Microsoft Office environment. In 2004, he will also be involved in developing e-learning courses.

This book really helped me out with learning how to implement creative thoughts/ideas into a working navigation system. When read, it sounds like the authors are right there walking you through each and every step you need to understand and master FireworksMX 2004. As you read through the book, you'll find a lot of helpful tips that are in each section. I almost liked reading the tips rather than focusing on the main sections. Be sure to work through the tutorials, I picked up a lot of tidbits that I didnt think were possible.

The authors do a great job introducing Fireworks MX 2004 to new users. They take readers on a thorough tour of the features and tools sets available in Fireworks. Experienced readers can also learn from this book as it talks about more advanced topics and even highlights the Fireworks Exchange by Macromedia which is one of the most powerful assets available to Fireworks users. If you want to learn Fireworks MX 2004, this is the book for you.
