Nice music, just not all of it.,

Not a bad soundtrack, though, they are missing a few tracks from the series. The J-pop fits the series, and even if it isn't the greatest of all time, it is worth adding to the library.

The best of Macross II,

Well, I have to say that this is an excellent CD, if you are a Macross Fan is "a must". An explanation must be given this CD contains the very first soundtrack, as it appears in the OVA's. So if you expect to find songs like "Promise (Yakusoko)" or others sung by Ishtar you should buy the Volume II. Buy it, you won't regret it...

The reason I became interested in the Macross series,

I never really had been interested in the Macross Series until I saw this movie so I figured that I would get the soundtrack. I was not wrong, To this day this soundtrack is in the top 3 in my favorite soundtracks only bested by star ocean and final fantasy. I would never have become interested in this series if I had not heard the song "For Now, A Friend" by Tomoyo Sato, Now I am hooked.

There is no special reason to buy this soundtrack. I only bought it for sentimentality reasons. I would say that the opening and closing songs are the best on this CD. The rest just seams like your average "old" anime tunes that help set the mood in the movie. If you have seen "Macross II" and liked the music, than go ahead and buy this CD if you wish. Otherwise I don't think it's anything you should randomly buy and than hope that you will like it.

Macross II may not have been the best, but the soundtrack is,

This review is from: Macross II: Original Soundtrack, Volume 1 (1992 Japan Anime Video) (Audio CD)
Macross II wasn't the best movie in the "Macross" series and was considered a failure in most circles. It was the first anime I ever saw, so it was great to me. (In retrospect, there's better ones, but I digress). The soundtrack is fantastic though, with 19 tracts and 5 songs, each great ones to hear while your driving at 75 on the freeway (Not that i do, mind you). Worth the money to import, a MUST HAVE for japanese music fans!
