Take your music on the go with the lightweight Macvision MA823T-2BL digital audio player with 256 MB of skipless flash memory. In addition to playing both MP3 and WMA audio files, it also sports an FM radio and digital voice recorder. Additionally, it can be used as a USB mass storage unit, allowing you to safely store your important presentations and documents and transfer them to another PC.
The 256 MB MA823T will hold approximately 4 hours of CD-quality MP3 tracks (encoded at 128 kps) or 8 hours of WMA tracks (at 64 kbps). In addition to MP3 and WMA, it's also compatible with ASF and WAV formats. The FM radio has a total of 40 presets. The integrated microphone and voice recorder feature enables you to record short notes to yourself as well as important meetings and lectures. Files are recorded as WAV or ACT.
Playback functions include repeat one/all, play directory, repeat folder, and play random. The seven- tone equalizer features natural, rock, pop, classical, soft, jazz, and heavy bass settings. The easy- to-read LCD has a full-cartoon graphical menu and displays such text as song title and album.
It's powered by a single AAA battery, which provides up to 10 hours of life. Sleep and power-save modes help to extend the battery use. It connects to PCs via a USB 2.0 connection, and it's compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. This player is firmware upgradable.

Hey for 31 bucks this is a pretty nice little player. Good audio, decent FM reception. The inlcuded headphones are not the greatest and you will probably want to use others that are more comfortable. I got this to see just how much I would actually use an mp3 player before I spring for an ipod.
This unit will not play mp4 format files. I have a few and this player will not recognize them. Must be mp3 or wma format. Compact size, the menus are pretty easy to navigate with a little practice. If an iPod seems a bit much for your needs, check out one of these little inexpensive players.

I bought two of this product for my children. One works fine and the other just stopped working. When I got ready to send if back, it was working fine. I still sent it back -- hoping I get a better one next time. Amazon return system if fantastic though! I notified them yesterday of the problem and my replacement is already on the way! That's wonderful!

very fragile, won't last long,

My husband and I bought these, the white one and the blue one earluier this fall and neither one lasted more than a month, mine actually is still functional, but they go through a whole battery in 6-8 hours, and some songs won't copy correctly onto the player, a lot of corrupted songs that I was able to listen to on my IPOD (which I ended up buying after I gave up on this).
The controls are also a lot more confusing that the instructions lead on, be wary of this if you choose to buy it.
