5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for your cookbook library
I ordered this book and didn't open it until I had a bridal shower to go to. I remembered it on the shelf and sat down to look it over. What a feast for the eyes and what a bunch of mouth-watering recipes! I have ordered two more, one for myself and one for my daughter's hope chest.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice variety of flavors with so so results
Mad about Muffins is a wonderful idea for a cookbook and it is very attractive but I think that the author could have found better recipes. The muffins are all very edible but they are not outstanding and the results do not always look "bakeshop pretty". The ingredients called for are simple and most people who bake often will have them on hand. There are...

I ordered this book and didn't open it until I had a bridal shower to go to. I remembered it on the shelf and sat down to look it over. What a feast for the eyes and what a bunch of mouth-watering recipes! I have ordered two more, one for myself and one for my daughter's hope chest.

The colored pencil drawings that accompany every single recipe are gorgeous. The author became interested in making her own muffins when a favorite bakery near her work went out of business.

The recipes are divided into categories such as those with fruits added, those with even vegetables and herbs, muffins to fit almost any occasion or food combination.

When my checkbook recuperates from the 3 copies I just bought, I plan to keep one on hand and give it as a gift along with a nice muffin tin, a mixing bowl, rubber spatula, etc.

This book is lovely and I'm looking forward to seeing the author's book on soups. bon appetite!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to make muffins galore, July 13, 1999
This review is from: Mad About Muffins: A Cookbook for Muffin Lovers (Hardcover)
This is a wonderful muffin book containing over 100 easy muffin recipes that use common ingredients. Better yet, preparation time is usually 15 minuets or less. Muffin varieties include those with vegetables, fruits, nuts, & chocolate. Breakfast, adult, & international muffins are also included. There are even recipes to please kids and ones taken from traditional cakes. My favorite section includes 9 luscious chocolate muffin recipes including peanut butter chocolate, mocha chocolate chip, & tunnelfudge to name a few. I also enjoyed the Parmesan tomato & sour cream streusel muffins. The book has a country feel to it. It is printed in color on handmade style paper. There are numerous illustrations throughout. My only wish is for more information on ingredients & general preparation.

A terrific book for anyone looking for new and different muffin recipes! All the familiar favorites are there, but you'll also find a fun collection of new recipes; garlic-corn, seafood, mint chocolate chip, and black forest. If you like quick, tasty recipes like these, you'll also like any of the Gooseberry Patch books...filled with yummy recipes & easy how-to's.

There are many basic recipes (bran, blueberry, corn etc) but there are also some exciting flavor combinations (pumpkin apple, orange pineapple) and not always sweet (some savory ie. Buttermilk Scallion Parsley potato). If you are crazy about muffins then this cookbook is a safe bet but you can find just as good if not better muffin recipes in another baking book that covers alot more categories including muffins.

with delicious recipes!
I've tried several of them and they are so good!
Here you'll find everyone's favourites like blueberry, cinnamon and corn; savory muffins (vegetable cheese), with fruits, nuts, a whole chapter with chocolate recipes, another for children, and new flavours for adults.
The book comes with really nice designs, so it makes a great gift as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Madly in Love, December 22, 2011
This review is from: Mad About Muffins: A Cookbook for Muffin Lovers (Hardcover)
I have been using this book as my go-to for muffin recipes for years and years. It is one of the most loved and most used books on my cookbook shelf. Its value is far higher now than when I purchased it because of all my personal notes and additions. If you love muffins, you really will love this collection of recipes.

I had checked this book out at my local Public Library last winter and after making some of the simplest recipes ever, I decided I just had to OWN this book! The imagination and combination of the most unexpected ingredients to make muffins, is to say the least, the biggest surprise! The graphics and variety of recipes was also a pleasant surprise. This is a MUST have for any pleasure baker--a real crowd pleaser!
