THANK YOU! Ahem.,

MAY's fan base is devoted and vocal. The highest-rated review I've written on Amazon (110+ positives as of today) was a double-barreled blast at the "Best Of" hodgepodge released a few years back. With so much popularity, it's been a mystery why the third season took four years - FOUR YEARS - to be released. Well, it's not really a mystery: Sales have been low. But it finally has been and we're going to be gracious to Sony. Or at least try.
I don't even care anymore about special features. They cost hundreds of thousands to produce and I don't want to give any excuses for further delays. The resolution on this set is back to season one's low standards in order to cram 24 eps onto three discs. Fine. It's better than no episodes at all. One plus: I'm happy this set has Play All. It should be illegal to not have that function on a DVD set. To the fans: Sony ponied up for this. Now you have to buy it or we get no more!

I'll just echo what everyone else has already said. Seeing the 'Best-of' Collection come out seemed to pretty much spell the end of the Season boxed sets, without giving the show a chance to get to its best seasons.
Season Three is absolutely Mad About You at its very very best!! The show's very best episodes are here in Season 3: Our Fifteen Minutes, Two Tickets to Paradise, Cake Fear and the show's absolute best moment, the hour-long season finale (an 'Its A Wonderful Life-ish') 'Up In Smoke', where Jamie and Paul see what life would have been like if they'd never met. The stars are at their very best, and the supporting cast is given its best work in the show's run. The quality of Season 3 is so high, that the 'good' work in the remaining seasons pales by comparison. So, it's good? That's what I'm saying.

I had completely given up hope for a season three set. Especially when the "best of" collection was released, which was great... but this wonderful series deserves a season-by-season treatment. The only complaint I have is the lack of any "extras" on any of the season sets, but that's a minor gripe. If you want commentary and inside scoop, the four disc "Mad About You Collection" has plenty. I've just pre-ordered season three and if you're a fan of the show and want to see a season four, I suggest you do the same. The main reason for the huge gap between releases was due to poor sales of seasons one and two.
