5.0 out of 5 stars A hilarious spoof of the comic book superheroes, December 29, 2009
This review is from: The Mad Adventures of Captain Klutz (Mass Market Paperback)
There is no subject that the staff of "Mad Magazine" will not satirize; in this case it is the superhero genre. Captain Klutz is an idiot with a low level of brains matched only by the tackiness of his superhero outfit. The inner layer is red woolen underwear that looks like it would give you a terminal rash, there are blue polka-dot shorts over them, floppy clown shoes and a blue mask that goes down to mouth level. The literal and figurative topper is a set of yellow wings on the top of his head.
Completely incapable of doing anything right, Captain Klutz stumbles, twists and meanders his way through life, succeeding only by accident. It is a hilarious spoof of the dynamic and heroic comic book superheroes, all the way down to the absurd textual sound effects. Stupid humor with a satirical point can be some of the best, and this book is an example of that.
