This book provides very interesting insights on the Beat movement. Instead of just focusing on Kerouac and his writings it embraces a larger scale of art works from performing arts, to cinema, painting,... It reflects in a very relevant way on the atmosphere of the 50's, the dawn of the counter-culture of the 60's and 70's.
A good read for pleasure and an interesting study.

Funny, complex, smart... Sterritt is far and away the best writer on the beats!! wonderful stuff!!
