4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best movie novelizations I have ever read
I watched the movie twice before I read this book and I recently reread it again. Unlike so many other novelizations of movies that are poorly written and appear to be little more than a cheap attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the movie, this one is good. Max is a cop, doing his best in a seriously failing society when he runs into a crazed gangster called the Night Rider.

This ends up with his family dead, quite a lot of car wrecking and loud noises in this future decaying Australia...

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best movie novelizations I have ever read, February 3, 2008
This review is from: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Paperback)
I watched the movie twice before I read this book and I recently reread it again. Unlike so many other novelizations of movies that are poorly written and appear to be little more than a cheap attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the movie, this one is good. The writing is splendid and the story keeps very close to the action in the movie. It also fleshes out the action a little bit by giving some background on the history of Mad Max, Aunty Entity and Master. If you have seen the original movie, then the information on Max will not be new, however if you haven't, then it will be helpful. This is one of the best movie novelizations that I have ever read.

A pretty decent novelisation.

Obviously not the best in its series, but an extremely good story of the rediscovery of humanity in a heartwrenching world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the movie...obviously, March 17, 1999

This review is from: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Paperback)
This book is obviously and almost always is better than the movie. The movie wasn't as violent as the book,In fact if Miller had followed the sript this movie would have been rated R rather than PG-13.It is almost exactly the same as the movie with little things removed from them.Such as The Collector,In the movie he lives and in the novel,Aunty's tower falls on him.The movie also has the leg brace on his leg from "The Road Warrior" but is still a good reader.
