This disc kicks. DJ Cam has produced an album that not just "fuses" jazz and hiphop, but finds a point where they seem to naturally intersect. He mixes, sratches and samples from a variety of sources with amazing results. Disc 2, which is mixed live, is probably the stronger disc and features a few tracks which are simply breathtaking.... favorites include "Meera" and "Lost Kingdom", which feature an amazing Eastern (Indian?) vocalist, and "Dieu Reconnaitra Les Siens", which perfectly highlights Cam's prowress on the turntable and in the mixing room. In a word, "Mad Blunted Jazz" is brilliant. Don't let this one get away!

Until i bought DJ Cam's mad blunted jazz, i had never heard any of his work. After reading the positive reviews on this album i began to develop some expectations. I can honestly say that DJ Cam fulfilled them and then some. This album is a brilliant blend of down-tempo hip hop beats/scratches with "blunted" jazz riffs and piano. I would highly recomend this album to any one interested in trip-hop or anyone open to appreciate good origional music. After just the first listening...DJ Cam has made a avid fan out of me.

measure triphop by this one man. the dark rythms, entrancing beats, and beautiful vocal samples all add up to an exquisit album. "lost kingdom" is the apex of perfection within the genre as cam uses a toggle switch to elegantly pop such angelic voices into and out of a conglomerate of audio shadows.
