Having two or more game systems and having to change the a/v cables in the back of the tv all the time can be quite a pain. I purchased this unit in order to play with my Dreamcast and Playstation without having to switch all the time. Also, my roommate didn't know how to switch the units. Now all you have to do is push the button for the unit you are playing with. It has room for up to 4 different game units or a VCR or any other piece that requires a tv and a/v cables. A must buy for those that have more than one item for their television.

I hooked up Nintendo, Sega Dreamcast, and Sony Playstation all into this little lightweight box and they all worked great! You have to remember which game is hooked up to which button (no labels) and it feels cheap (very lightweight), but it works and that's all that matters!

When I first purchased the MadCatz System Selector, I was a bit worried that it might break after the first few days because I have had problems with these Universal items in the past. I'll admit that I only purchased it because it was cheaper than the GameStop system selector.I've had the selector for over two months now and it works like a charm. Nothing has gone wrong. The gadget works fine and it hasn't affected my systems performances. The selector is easy to use, convenient and inexpensive. You just plug in your A/V cords and then plug it into your TV. To switch between systems, all you have to do is flick a switch. No more switching cables and all that junk. I do recommend this device to anyone with 2 or more systems (it is sort of a waste if you're buying this for just one system). 5/5 overall.

The Best,

I've had mine for over 2 years. I bought mine at Target thought. It's been a real back saver. No more disconnecting and reconnecting. Also, when I got myself a new VCR, DVD Player, and Stereo System I use this allot. Mine's setup to allow the dvd player to show up as button one and the vcr's sound to show up on the stereo as button two. I can even combine buttons if I was both sound from the stereo and the TV. This may sound confusing to you but I like it ;-). The kid just probably got a bad one.

This one is cheap, uses no additional power (no AC needed), and does not give any a/v interference. Best one I've tried. Get it for $10 + shipping at www.madcatzstore.com.

I have had one of these units for about a year...it is truly indespensable. Perhaps the kid got a bad one...electronics are famous for having bad units out on the market. I hope the kid returns it, and gets one that works great. (remember the first batch of PSX's--they overheated alot, but it's still a great system). I wouldn't be with out it. To enhance this product do the following: Make more selections available I have 8 game systems, a VCR and a DVD player. Second, make one that can change the selection with a remote!!Great buy, worth every cent. Kid, get yourself a new one, it'll be worth it

I got this a year ago and it works great! No more switching cables at the back of your tv. It's easy to switch between the systems (push a button) and setting it up is easy too. I recommend it. It does the job well.

Very Effective,

I picked up this system selector about two years ago, and it has been very effective. I haven't had any problems with it and video and audio is clear. However, I recommend getting a thicker A/V cable for the output since the one that comes with it is rather small. Still, this is quite a deal.Of course, if you have S-video or component connections on your TV (which are both better respectively), you may consider getting a selector that supports those. I know there's S-video selectors, but I'm not sure about component ones.

When I got this I thought it would help because I have a 64 and PSX plus a VCR. But when I tried to hook this up it didn't work at all. On the rare occasiaon that the picture worked, the sound still didn't. This was just a waste of money because it didn't work. I don't reccomend it.
