Strangely Addicting, January 15, 2008
This review is from: Mad Dog McCree (DVD)
Because I find it strangely addicting and cool to play a video game on a DVD player using the DVD player's remote control, I love this game and am giving it a 5-star rating.
The acting in the game is corny and I wouldn't want it any other way. It adds to the humor and fun of the game. The concept of getting to be a part of an interactive movie, I think, is brilliant.
The game is short and can be completed in just 15 minutes. It has two difficulty levels, and it is fun to try to beat the hard difficulty level without dying even though the game doesn't reward you for doing this. At different parts of the game, enemies will appear from random locations, so the game isn't quite the same each time you play it, adding to the replayability.
The only really frustrating part is if you have an unresponsive DVD remote controller. Beating the game at all on the hard difficulty setting is virtually impossible unless you have a very responsive remote. I was fortunate to have another DVD player with a very responsive remote controller in my house once I realized I could not play the game effectively on my main DVD player.
