This review is from: Mad Libs Card Game (Toy)
The new Mad Libs card game is a lot of fun for people who like words and sentences. It will also be good for those trying to learn sentence contruction.
It's easy enough to play--there are five rounds, with each round needing sentences of a certain length. Round one, for example, needs a four word sentence ("Grandmothers Cheerfully Frighten Spaceships") and a six word sentence (Lukewarm Girls Overwhelm Horribly Heartsick Sweat Socks). Points are given per sentence and extras for the round winners.
The cards consist of nouns (computers, kneecaps), adjectives (sticky, mysterious), adverbs (impatiently, endlessly) and verbs (bulldoze, browbeat). The words on the cards are varied enough to come up with continually interesting sentences (Weirdos Worship Invisible Belly Buttons), and in addition there are fill-in-the-blank cards for each part of speech. At the beginning of the game, each player makes a list of two of each speech part, to use for the fill-in-the-blank cards.
Overall, it's a fun game with lasting value; I don't think we'll get bored quickly with things like "Lovable Skeletons Drink Pickled Eyeballs". It may be a better game for adults, simply because sentence structure comes easier to an adult than to a child. However, if you've got the patience, it would be a good game to play to help kids master sentence construction.

This review is from: Mad Libs Card Game (Toy)
We love Mad Libs on paper. We thought the card game would be equally amusing and help our kids with sentence construction. However, the rounds went rather quickly. An opportunity to draw a replacement card only came around every other round or so, as someone was usually dealt the prescribed number of sentences and required components. They then played their sentences and ended the round.
We were very disappointed and probably will not play again.
