Terrorists launch the worst attack on the United States in history. Now you can understand why. THE MAD MESSIAH, Osama bin Laden and the Seeds of Terror examines the life and background of Osama bin Laden and explores the conspiracy, history and passions that led to the events of September 11th.

Author/Journalist Mantoshe Singh Devji’s startling new book reveals the mysteries of bin Laden’s background, examines the cultural differences that generate such extreme emotions, and explains the network of lies, corruption and political agendas that led to the US training some of the groups responsible for the attacks on September 11th!

Among the topics examined are:

-Bin Laden’s history and evolution, from boy millionaire, to CIA backed freedom fighter, to the most wanted terrorist on earth.

-‘Why Do They Hate Us?’ an examination of the fundamentalist perspective and a chilling glimpse into the mind of the enemy.

-Project Bojinka- the plot to use our own airliners against us that was discovered as early as 1995, and included plans to kill the Pope.

-Islam-the history, meaning and corruption of one of the world’s oldest religions by terrorists.

-Afghanistan-The Land that Time Forgot, the history, culture and psyche of one of the harshest regions on the planet.

-Afghan women, the first and last victims of a hundred wars, their suffering, their spirit, and their resistance.

AUTHOR ATTEMPTS TO BRING PEACE THROUGH UNDERSTANDING

When Mantoshe Singh Devji began her research of a then little known religious extremist and his corporate terrorist syndicate she had no idea what it would all lead to. On September 11, 2001 Ms. Devji found herself like most of us lost and confused looking for answers about what we could do. In this case the answer came from a trusted friend and colleague Nick Ligidakis who told her to write it all down.

Mantoshe had been writing for the previous four years yet up to that time no one seemed to care about a man named Osama bin Laden and his exploits. Now his name is infamously branded in the memories of the world today. The Mad Messiah: Osama bin Laden and the Seeds of Terror (Inkwell Productions, 2002), became a source of information for the frequently asked questions regarding the events of September 11th. Knowledge brings power. It is also the cure for fear. A better understanding of questions like "Why do they hate us?" brings a certain peace through resolve.

Mantoshe Singh Devji is not one to shy away from the tough questions. A journalist for over 30 years and one of the first female journalists in India gave her an interesting perspective from which to work. She asked many people from different backgrounds and cultures what they believed the solutions to this problem of international tension was and the answers that came back might not be what one would originally suspect.

This is an important work of literature that may throughout time become one of the definitive resources of information about this time in history. When asked if she would write more books Ms. Devji affirmed that she would continue to share more information as the plot unravels. Hoping that through a better understanding of the issues empowering this situation we will be armed through knowledge to bring peace to those who desire it.

From the Author

Devastated by the events of September 11th, as all Americans and citizens of the world were, the main thoughts that went through my mind were questions: What could provoke such hatred and reckless regard for life? Who were the people who had brought this evil idea to fruition, and how were they able to strike the most powerful country the world has ever known?

I put my years of writing, research and political experience to work to answer these questions, to build bridges of understanding towards peace, to present a view of the self proclaimed ‘enemy of western civilization’ and glimpse into the causes of such events so we can prevent anything like this from ever happening again. This required a serious examination of the culture, history, religion, and ideology of those responsible as well as the actions that the United States has taken before and after that tragic fall day in New York.

My view of these events is factually researched and as objective as possible and I hope that it provides you a deeper understanding of the events and our ever –shrinking world in general. My unique perspective as an American of eastern origin, and as a refugee who was forced to flee political turmoil many years ago before making the US my home provides a different perspective about the people of that region and their mindset. I feel that a woman’s view of this unique cross-cultural viewpoint is especially helpful in discussing the role of women in those societies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Balanced and Refreshingly Clear, July 8, 2002
By
This review is from: The Mad Messiah: Osama bin Laden and the Seeds of Terror (Paperback)
The Mad Messiah is an excellent overview of events leading up to and including September 11th.

With tremendous insight, it composes a greater and more complete picture of the actions of ALL parties involved in our current world events. By composing this picture, what we might have previously viewed as an 'isolated and random incident', is actually shown to be a lengthy evolution of economic, political, cultural and emotional circumstances.

While some may find this book challenging in the extensive information it presents, especially in regard to previous U.S. military involvement overseas, I felt that Ms. Devji reports on a challenging and charged topic with informed grace, neutrality, compassion and understanding for all elements of the equation.

I found The Mad Messiah eye-opening, and refreshingly clear. I was able to understand some of the various components of why we are at where we are today, without having to edit out someone else's biased perception. That, in itself, is a tremendous gift to our collective education, especially since AS Americans, one of our greatest assets is our inquiring mind and constant search for the truth. Read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars BALANCED - FAIR - INFORMATIVE -UNIQUE, August 18, 2002
By
This review is from: The Mad Messiah: Osama bin Laden and the Seeds of Terror (Paperback)
Having read several of the books on the events and people behind September 11th, I can safely say that Devji's book is a clear stand out among them. She has broken down a complex subject involving religious, poitical and geographical issues and explained them clearly, presenting unique perspectives and insights because she is an 'insider' from that part of the world. What really makes her book stand out is the fact that it examines not only the facts about the attack, but the causes, solutions, and history in a compelling narrative way. An informative and enjoyable read.
