How many years later and these guys are still relevant. Their music has aged very well, unlike the other 'electronic' bands of the mid 80s.

This is one of the most haunting songs ever made. I think the various remakes from Adam Lambert to Michael Andrews are more famous than the original. Still the song finds a way into your head where it will stay planted. Beautiful, simple, haunting. This is song that makes you hit repeat.

Since Tears for Fears recorded their composition "Mad World" there have been many singers/groups who have made their own versions of it. Some of these are excellent.

The original--with its fast tempo and emphasis on putting out an almost machine-like rhythm--stresses the fast pace & madness of the world. Other versions emphasize more what the words ultimately mean--the sadness in the song. The point is, this song has enough complexity in the lyrics and melody to provide very varied interpretations.
