I've always liked Mad by Neyo. Many people love this song because it provides insight, love, emotions, and even advice. After analyzing this song in one of my communication classes, I've had more appreciation for this song.
My thoughts: - Piano, instrumentals, and vocals are A+. Ne-yo's voice always delivers. Rarely does his voice withers or fails. Simple piano and instrumentals, but they provide so much to the dynamic of the song. Wonderful flow and pace. The instrumental music itself tells a story of love and emotion. - Extremely personal feel. As someone who may become stubborn or mad sometimes with people, this song is a great reminder that getting mad doesn't help anybody. The song , especially if the listener is feeling a bit mad or emotional, almost speaks directly to us. The conversational style touches me deeply. Enjoy and listen to this if you haven't already. If you already have, well, keep listening!

Within the past year, for Ne-Yo, he has made some really good songs on his own, but there always is one rabbit out of the hat that just feels like it wants to crawl all the way back in. After the well-acclaimed beats of Miss Independent, and a better performance than what New Kids On the Block gave on the collaboration Single, it is sad that that his latest single has a weight that is dragged down. Mad, the third single from his 3rd album Year Of The Gentleman, feels like it is a bit weaker in the beats and the soul of the song than what was from his pervious songs. I didn't find the song to have the drive as what Ne-Yo had made before. I hope that his next single can be better than this one.
