If your kids love the movie they will love the book. We read it every night. It has great pictures, and fun animals. Great story line.

this is a great book, for younger readers. It is filled with colorful pictures, that will keep kids interested for hours. The characters are cute, and the plot is funny. Overall, This is an enjoyable book.

My 2 1/2 year old loves the movie and I bought this to read with him to help him understand the story. There are plenty of good illustrations, the story is nicely written and the pages are nice and thick so they don't tear easily. A good buy.

My 2 1/2 yr old daughter LOVES the movie "Madagascar," so I wanted a book we could read together to relive the movie and not have to watch TV all the time. This book seemed like a good deal, but I was disappointed with it the instant it arrived. First of all, we ordered it from one of the Amazon associate sellers (I can't remember the name, but it's the one who sells used books and still qualifies for Super Shipping Savings) and somebody packed it poorly so it was damaged on the way over (cover's scratched, its corners bent, & pages bent). Then the book wasn't in the condition as described by the seller (it was supposed to be excellent used condition but I would describe it as only acceptable since the spine was broken and the second half of the book's pages were mat instead of glossy, which makes me think it was a factory reject). Third, the story's simple BUT the illustrations aren't exactly the scenes from the movie. I mean, someone drew and painted them to LOOK like the scenes from the movie, but they don't look all that great. (What I don't get is since it was an animated movie, why didn't they just photocopy the animated scenes for the book?) My daughter doesn't care that the illustrations look a little "wonky," but I do (and it bugs me when we read it together). Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have purchased this book and would have purchased the Deluxe Sound Madagascar Storybook instead (it was cheaper, too!)
