"Merry Madagascar" is a fun Christmas adventure of 20 minutes. If you like the Madagascar movies, you'll like this. No complaints here.

HOWEVER--before you buy the 2-pack with "Party with the Penguins", check your Madagascar DVD (the first one). YOU ALREADY OWN "A CHRISTMAS CAPER". It's a bonus feature on the original DVD, and it's the only "movie" (a short) on this DVD! The games (that should be listed as "game"--singular) and the songs (recycled animation repurposed into Christmas videos) are really not worth paying anything at all. We can't speak to the PC activities, but really--who ever does those anyway?

Do yourself a favor and buy "Merry Madagascar" by itself. It's a 4 out of 5 stars.

I have been a fan of Dreamworks' CGI characters ever since Shrek, but my favorites by far are the characters from "Madagascar." When I saw this DVD 2-pack online, I knew I had to add it to my collection. It was even at a better price that at the store, so keep up the good work Amazon. Thank you for sending this out to me.

I wish that they were longer than 20 minutes and 12 minutes.
But still very cute and entertaining!

I loved this movie and the short movie that came with it...very funny...and I loved the twist to the old Christmas songs.

I don't understand the complaints that these are so short. The original price is $5 or $8. Well worth the price. Funny movies and what you'd expect for the price and subject.

The only good DVD in this 2-pack is the "Party with the Penguins" DVD, because of
the short movie in it: "A Christmas Caper." This short movie is funny and very well put together. It's much more entertaining than both of the Madagascar movies combined. The only problem with this short is the music that is sung at the end of it. Why couldn't they just play an upbeat Christmas song that is good to listen to, instead of making their own music and inputting it into the short. The creators of this short need to put good music into this short, they shouldn't make their own music for it, because they clearly suck at making their own music.


The singing portions in both of these movies and their bonus features is so horrible that it will make your ears bleed (the characters in these movie can't sing for crap and the music beats are horrible too). The "Merry Madagascar" short movie is prentious and horrible at the same time. It is plagued by annoying characters, very little humor, unfunniness, Julian, who is the most annoying in the movie and every main character in this movie is unlikable except for the 4 penguins (because these 4 birds truly bring their short to life).

I give "Merry Maagascar" a 4/10 and I give "A Christmas Caper" a 9.5/10.

If you are going to buy this DVD 2-pack, only buy it for the "Party with the penguins" DVD, because the "A Christmas Caper" short is a lot more fun to watch than any of the other awfulness that the other Madagascar shorts and movies will give you.

my son doesn't watch a ton of television, as he's only one and a half, but lord knows when they're teething or need a pick me up, kids love tv. my son loves all things madagascar, and these dvd's are an even bigger hit for all the fun christmas songs and animals and all things kid-friendly. always gets a laugh (and excited bounching and running about the room) from my son.

I get movies for my Nieces and Nephews, I watch them and then I let them watch it. Both of these movies were very good movies, I'd give them a five star if they were just a little longer.

Santa while on his annual trip to bring joy to the world is shot down by Julien the king of the lemurs, who mistakes the toy maker as the "red night goblin." The story takes Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria and presses them into service for an absent St. Nick who is struck with amnesia when his sled crashes. In the meantime, while Santa tries to remember who he is on the shores of Madagascar, he inadvertently teaches Julien the lesson of giving. All of this fun is wrapped up in a 30 minute show that will see regular Yule time viewings at my household. Merry Christmas!

We bought all the movies we could find with the Madagascar characters. Our 2yr old daughter loves them all and could watch them over and over if we let her!
