A Creative Storyline,
This review is from: Madam Eve (Paperback)
After more than 20 years of marriage, Evelyn is finally divorced from her abusive retired football player husband. Instead of enjoying what she acquired from her settlement, Evelyn comes up with devious plan. She decides to start a male escort service to help her best friends get revenge on their philandering husbands by allowing them to cheat as well. But there is one catch: The women will be using their husband's money. Evelyn recruits and trains a young and sexy man named Andrew to be her first escort. Andrew didn't have a lot of confidence when it came to women until Evelyn taught him tools of the trade. Soon Andrew is swept away into a life of fine clothing and more money than he could imagine. When a potential girlfriend comes into the picture, Andrew wonders if he really wants to continue the life of an escort.
Madam Eve is an interesting and daring novel by Eddrick Dejuan. Dejuan brought a creative storyline by having Evelyn start an escort business. You can almost see the wheels turning in Evelyn's head as she devises this plan. You also feel the confusion of Andrew as he is thrown into this lifestyle. This novel would have been a lot better if Evelyn didn't start the escort business so abruptly. It also would have been nice if there was more character development with Andrew. There could have been a stronger secondary storyline with Andrew and his father. Madam Eve is still a good story for those who are looking for something a little different. A Quick Read With An Interesting Plot,
This review is from: Madam Eve (Paperback)
Evelyn divorced her retired pro-football player husband when she could no longer deal with his lying and cheating ways. As for their pre-nuptial agreement, the judge ruled in Evelyn's favor due to his treatment of her during their marriage. As a way to "help" other women get back at their cheating husbands, Evelyn decides to open an escort business. But, while she is plotting revenge somehow love happens.
This book rated a 3 for a number of reasons. First, the author could have developed the storyline more. I should have been more of a back story on the relationship between Andrew and his father. Next there were a quiet a few typographical errors. This book was in need of some major editing. And, the last but not least the cover art was just lacking. It looked very basic, dull and did not convey what the story was about. Overall, this was a quick read with a plot that will keep the reader interested. This book was very well put together. The story had a different twist
for the plot and followed through very well. There were some typos but this did not take away from the story. I enjoyed reading it and it was a quick read. Diva Reviewer - Nicole Holman [...]

MADAM EVE by Eddrick Dejuan tells the story of recently divorced Evelyn Robinson as she embarks on her journey to empower herself and help her friends get revenge on their philandering husbands. After twenty years of dealing with the control, cheating, and abuse of her retired football player husband, Evelyn has mustered the courage to walk away. And thanks to the prenup, she is able to do so and gain all of the real estate acquired during their marriage. Armed with multiple homes and hotels across the nation, she embarks on a plan to start her own escort service. As she molds Andrew, her naive male escort, to please her friends, Evelyn finds he is a stark contrast to her ex-husband and ends up falling for him.
Andrew is a twenty-three-year-old valet who works at Evelyn's Atlanta hotel. Unlucky when it comes to women, Andrew is shocked when the opportunity to be a male escort presents itself. Weighing the pros and cons of accepting the offer, he takes the job and watches his ego and debt skyrocket along with his bank account. When a childhood friend moves back in town, Andrew will have to regain control of his life before he is no longer able to recognize his own reflection. Eddrick Dejuan hooks his reader to the storyline of MADAM EVE from the very beginning of the novel as Evelyn's divorce is finalized. However, one might find Evelyn's nonchalant attitude in discussing her illegal business plan slightly unrealistic. In addition, character descriptions that read like notes on an index card and verb tense changes may be somewhat distracting for the reader. Nonetheless, MADAM EVE is a quick read that entertains the reader with a story of revenge, reinvention, and romance. Reviewed by Nicole S. Gary for THE RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

Love before Lust or Lust before Love is the question that Evelyn will be asking once she gets divorced from her Reggie. Reggie is an ex football player that plays the field on and off the court during his marriage; He is abusive towards his wife and he cheats on her as well. Evelyn does not want her ventures to end before they began. She wants to make sure she crosses her T's and dot her I's after her ordeal with her ex-husband. Evelyn is smarter than what Reggie gives her credit for during the marriage. Thanks to him she will be worth more than a million dollars when it's all said and done. Evelyn decides to give her friends and their spouses a run for their money, well the spouses anyway since it's their money. It could be for selfish reasons, but Evelyn decides that she wants to help her friends get even with their cheating spouses as well; so she decides to run a chaperon service. In her new adventure she decides that she needs a young man that she can mold into what she wants for her business, that is where Andrew comes in.
Andrew is a valet at the hotel where Evelyn frequents most of her time. Andrew is tired of being in the friend category when it comes to women and he also has issues when it comes to the confidence party as well. Andrew has been raised by his father because of an unfortunate mishap that happened to his mother. He feels that his father gives him no emotional or mental support, but has always been around physically. Evelyn starts to take a general interest in Andrew, and decides that he is exactly what she is looking for. Andrew's confidence starts uprising as he ventures into Evelyn's chaperon service. Andrews's clients' began to have a sense of freedom when they were around him, and as far as they were concerned; anything goes! Andrew will eventually get to a point with Evelyn where he wants to neutralize their relationship and slowly back away because he wants security, trust, and love and Evelyn is just a control freak that wants what she wants when she wants it. I really thought that this book was an excellent read. Eddrick Dujuan has changed my outlook as far as erotic novels and has made me a fan. This book is not going to have you wanting to rip the sheets off your bed like Zane however the suspense and the story line itself will definitely keep you intrigued. The sex scenes in the book were OK maybe if he went a little deeper it would have been more exciting. The only thing I didn't like was how long the chapters were. He does break the chapters up for you with line breaks but they just seemed really long to me. That is the only thing negative I have to say about the book. Mr. Dujuan is a great writer that will keep you in suspense and make you want to hurry up and get the next chapter and find out what's going to happen next. He made sure that Evelyn and Andrew had the right mix of supporting characters in the novel. He's not the type of author that keeps bringing characters in the book and you have no idea where they came from or who they are. He makes sure he establishes that as soon as you meet them in the book. Honestly one character won't even need an introduction, you can figure out what line of work she does just by her actions towards her biggest arch rival, Evelyn. I really suggest this novel for anyone that is into DRAMA, because it is full of it. Mr Dujaun will have you hooked from the beginning all the way to the end of the story. The characters in this story will be tested by going through many trials and tribulations in this story. In the end you will realize the moral of the story is just because you are in a situation physically make sure that your soul is mentally and emotionally attached as well. Madam Eve definitely gets a 5 from me because it held my attention and it was a great read with less than ten errors. Chasity Boone AAMBC Book Reviews

Evelyn's taking her vengeance up a notch,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Madam Eve (Paperback)
An abusive, cheating husband - most women are simply satisfied with a divorce, but Evelyn's taking her vengeance up a notch. "Madam Eve" tells of Evelyn and her plan to start a male 'escort' service, well deserving of the quotations, in order to suggest women everywhere avenge themselves against their cheating husbands. Love, however, does not evade Evelyn for long as she falls for her first trainee and the enthralling plot thickens in this deftly written romance, making "Madam Eve" a great acquisition for any romance fan or community library collection.
