This review is from: Madam President: Shattering the Last Glass Ceiling (Hardcover)
Eleanor and Tom have written a classic. It's about time someone has taken the role of women in high political office seriously. I'm buying copies for my daughters and nieces.

A must read for all women,

This review is from: Madam President: Shattering the Last Glass Ceiling (Hardcover)
I really enjoyed the book. I could't put it down. It was enlightening and very interesting to see that these highly placed women are confronted with some of the same issues as other women. I began to understand why there aren't more women occupying seats of power. Very relatable and valuable for women who want to shatter the glass ceiling in their own organizations.

Uplifting and enjoyable read,

When I first picked up this book I wasn't sure if it had enough new information to hold my interest. Boy way I wrong (I'll never judge a book by its cover again). Unlike so many other inside-the-beltway tomes, this book has something important to say. It's pithy, polished and unpretentious. I'm enjoying every delicious page!

Inspiration for Female Politicians,
By A Customer
This review is from: Madam President: Shattering the Last Glass Ceiling (Hardcover)
A good book for females seeking a career in politics, as well as males looking to see how a female as Vice-President or President is inevitable in the near future. This book is not based strictly on feminist beliefs, but it does describe how female politicians feel in a political field dominated by male candidates. Interviews rage from some of the most well-known female politicians (Elizabeth Dole, Gov. Christi Whitman, Sen. Dianne Feinstein) to the lesser-known female politicians (Rep. Jennifer Dunn, Sen. Mary Landrieu). Excellent book, look forward to more like it...

Informative and inspiring!,

This review is from: Madam President: Shattering the Last Glass Ceiling (Hardcover)
This book is a motivating resource for all women, whether or not they are interested in politics. It is very revealing about national attitudes surrounding women with political power and the likelihood of a female president in the near future. Clift and Brazaitis also provide brief but thorough political biographies of several important female politicians as well as information about political organizations every woman should know like Emily's List. Get this book now, and order a copy for all of your female friends and relatives!

What a pleasant break to read a Washington tell-all book that's not about scandals. I'm taking it to the beach with me where I can truly savor every juicy morsel.

Bob and Elizabeth Dole should read this book,
This review is from: Madam President: Shattering the Last Glass Ceiling (Hardcover)
If Liddy Dole is serious about becoming the first woman president she could learn a lot from this book. It's a very balanced view of what it will take for a woman from any party to become president. It also gives a lot of insider information about the political process and how women still have a lot of work to do to break through this glass ceiling.

Gives Hope For the Political Process,
This review is from: Madam President: Shattering the Last Glass Ceiling (Hardcover)
The election isn't until November and I already feel discouraged by the saturation of negative political stories. So it's a pleasure to kick off my shoes and savor this book. It gives hope for politics in general and for women rising through the ranks of elected office.

When I was growing up I remember being asked, "Would you like to be the President when you grow up?" My sisters never got asked that question. So it's nice to read a book that shows it's possible that women will finally break through that glass ceiling.
