When McDonald's gave away miniature Madame Alexander dolls in their Happy Meals, I told my (then) 8-year-old granddaughter how the slightly larger Madame Alexander dolls were somewhat expensive collectibles and that I'd had one as a child. Immediately she wanted one. This one was such a good buy and so adorable. I am pleased to say that 2 years later she still has the complete set and displays it in her room. It took a lot of restraint for that little girl not to dress and play with the doll and I wouldn't have cared if she did. But I am proud of her for understanding that this isn't REALLY a toy.
