"The Scenic Route," another album the Kamikaze Ground Crew released in the early 1990s, is great, too, but this one boasts several stand-out tracks. Gina Leishman's "Cowboys" and "Blue Lake Dances" are worth the admission price alone. Fact is, every song offers cool surprises and great ensemble playing. Stylistically speaking, the songs cover a wide range, but nothing sounds/feels academic or forced.
