I have a 20" Wega. I turned on the PS2 (Red Faction was in it), wired the SVideo input and the RF input to the TV at the same time, and switched between them by changing the input on the television.

NIGHT and DAY. More than any other console, the PS2 with this cable running SVideo looks about twice as good - clean delineations, almost no color bleed, and totally in focus. It is super dramatic.

Trust me, I've done the same with my XBox, Gamecube, and Dreamcast... seriously, the PS2 improves DRAMATICALLY with this cables's Svideo connector, more than any of the other consoles.

Again, I did this on a WEGA... maybe an older TV will look blurry no matter what you do. But based on my results, this cable is a no-brainer for anyone with a PS2.

If he bothered to look at the spec and the cable, he'd notice something. The Composite Out and S-Video Out come from different pinouts on the Sony Connector. So the RCA Composite Video plug is getting its feed from one set of pins on the connector, and the S-Video, with luminance and chroma separated, are coming from *different* pins. There *is* no meshing of the picture.

It's fun to theorize, but it's better to know what you're talking about.

I bought these cables hoping for outstanding video from my PS2, but in return I got the worst video playback since the invention of the VHS tape. DVD playback makes actors looks like silhoettes anytime they are in a dark area with light from behind...it is like someone turned the brightness off, and put the contrast on high!!

Don't spend money on these...unfortunatly Amazon is not carrying the MonsterCable Gamelink 300 as of yet...otherwise I'd have them on the way to my house now!

i can definitely notice a difference in picture quality after hooking this baby up. i did a side by side comparison between the regular cable and this S-video cable. movies and games are crisper and more pleasing to watch.

This S-video cable cranks out hi-res DVD and game playback. S-video is a rarely used standard and it frees up room on your T.V. for other things. It works great and is simple to connect!

The "High Frequency S-Video Cable" is the first thing you want to get after you purchase the PS2. With the 's-cable', the resolution on your TV becomes a lot sharper when you play and hey, .... It's also from "Mad Catz" so you most likely won't be disappointed.

This is a very good cable I like it it has given me no trouble like I ahve had with some others in the past. To help some of you that might not know anyhting about this, S-Video is much better then AV (the yellow plug) the other 2 (red and white) are for sound. These are not "Composite" cables by definition. People oftern call these RCA (red yellow and white cables) Composite cables which is technicaly incorrect. Composite come in colors green blue and red. And they are much better then even S-Video but is not required for a great gamming experince.
