PRESENTATION

NFL game day is brought to life through improved likenesses to players and coaches, new gameplay camera angles and post player interactions that show the emotion of football. Coaches have been revamped from head to toe to match their real life counterparts. The new All-22 gameplay camera gives you a birds-eye view of the action as you survey the entire field at once. Post play, players comes to life through touchdown celebrations, sacks, tackles, and other events right in real time.

GAMEPLAY

Risk vs. Reward – Defenders can now make aggressive or conservative tackles in the open field, with proximity cones showing the effective range of each. Aggressive tackles can lead to big plays and fumbles, but conservative tackles are more likely to bring the ball-carrier down without giving up extra yards. The choice is yours, but so are the consequences.

Redesigned Coverage Logic – Have a bigger impact in the secondary with redesigned AI, providing more intelligence to how players react to the ball carrier. Defenses are now smarter when going for a swat vs. an interception or a tackle. Man coverage has also been improved to impact how much separation receivers are able to get on cuts in their routes, resulting in improved behavior of the defender.

MODES

Learn how to read zone defenses, when to hot route a receiver, and more with nearly 50 new tutorials and drills. 1.0 out of 5 stars freezes completely during game play, full system boot. August 30, 2014
By Fern

I'd you google around the internet for "madden 15 freezing" - you'll see a few forums at EA.com increasing slowly about the game freezing during game play. As it turns out, the game freezes during gameplay whether its the digital download or the disc. Poor job of EA releasing such a buggy game to patch later. I have yet to complete one game due to the game play freezing. Avoid this until freezing is solved.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some changes, and some of those are good and some bad. August 27, 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3|Edition:Standard
I like this year's game better than last year's, at least. Way too many issues with 25 to even list here. It looks a fair amount better, but not half as good as all the evidently PS4 pics they were claiming to be PS3 (kind of expected that, though). I like the new training method since I hated the practices, but it has its faults as well. Right now at least in my offline connected franchise, I'm only able to get points to improve about 4-5 players each week, and those points are rarely enough to raise a stat even a point. So while the players that play in the game may get some stats for their performance like last year's, you have to carefully pick and choose who you want to help. That's not all bad; you could choose to let a veteran qb start and let him get the stat raises and use the prep points on a rookie, for example, like in real football. But that kind of throws those veteran points down the toilet if you're going to start the rookie soon anyway. And I hate how they stuck with the "throw for 300 yards and 3 tds and get a nice bundle of points" and "throw for 299 yards and 2 tds and get nothing". Kind of stupid, not to mention unrealistic; there should be a fantasy football type scoring system with maybe a cap instead.

The supposedly new defensive system is nothing to me but a step sideways. I play coach mode on all-pro so I can't vouch for other types, but in mine I've played 8 games now and have only seen 8 interceptions and five fumbles, and I keep turning the sliders up on them. My sacks were totally out of control, at first' with the Vikings, I had 19 in my first three games. Changed the sliders again, and it's gotten better, but now the opposing qb often has all day.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Worthy Update for the Casual Madden Gamer August 27, 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3|Edition:Standard
I know there are tons of hardcore Madden gamers that are way better than I'll ever be -- this review is more for the casual fan who loves football and mostly plays the computer and likes to play against his friends every now and then.

**UPDATE AUGUST 29, 2014**

Okay, I've had a little more time to play around with this and feel confident in saying that the basic gameplay is very similar to Madden 25. I don't really get into career modes or MUT, so I have no info based on that. That said, if you have Madden 25, I don't know that this will be worth the money to upgrade to unless --

a) You want the new and much improved Skills Trainer modes (see below for more info)
b) You want updated rosters for this season
c) You want new playbooks for your team (example -- last season, Peyton Manning and the Broncos used the Pistol a lot but the Broncos playbook didn't have a Pistol formation you could use. In the new version, they added the Pistol and got rid of formations the Broncos didn't really use in real life. Additionally, the Broncos defensive playbook has new plays and formations as well. I'm going to guess all the Playbooks have been updated.)

I think there is a slight improvement on defensive AI, but not enough of one to justify a $60 pricetag. I personally am glad I got the new version, but people a little more frugal or who expect more for their money are probably better off waiting until they get a Next Gen system and getting latest version of Madden for that.

**END UPDATE**

To start off with, what features are on the Next Gen systems that's missing from the PS3 version? Unfortunately, some of the cooler sounding upgrades.

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete let down on PS3 August 27, 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3|Edition:Standard
I was so disappointed when I played this yesterday. I went out and bought it the day it came out. I skipped Madden 25 so I have really been looking forward to this one. I am a big Madden gamer and have been playing since 08. First of all, I couldn't believe how bad the players look in gameplay. They're very blurry and they all look the same, no player distinction. The gameplay is fun and sped up, so I do enjoy playing it, but it was such a let down.

As for online which is what I mostly play, there are only about 3,000 users online which is very surprising since that is how many played Madden 13 even when 25 was out. I hope more people start playing because that is pathetic. Also the interface seems very buggy and it's missing obvious features like checking out your opponents record and ranking after you play them.

ALSO- NO NEW FEATURES AS ADVERTISED! The new features are only for PS4 which is complete garbage! I kept watching YouTube videos getting hyped up about the great graphics and new defensive features... only to find out they're not in the PS3 game after I bought it! There's no jump snap or defensive player lock which I was looking forward to using.

The one thing I am very happy about is fantasy draft on offline franchise- this was missing in Madden 13.

*** UPDATE
My game freezes every time on connected franchise offline mode. I finish the game then quit to the menu, and it freezes on the load screen and the game does not save. You will be forced to shut down the system, and when you get back on all progress is lost. UNACCEPTABLE
