Madden does it again,
By A Customer
This review is from: Madden NFL 2001 [E] (Video Game)
I went out and bought QBC 2001 the other day and just sold it in on online auction.. Picked up Madden 2001 this morning and I LOVE IT. Before this I have been playing Madden 99 and there is a world of difference. Graphics are sharp, commentary is MUCH better, running game is a lot easier. And, the game still has the same 'Madden' controls that havent changed with time.. It makes playing a lot easier if you have played a Madden game before this one. From the few football games available on the N64, Madden is still tops. Don't waste your time with the others.

The Hottest Football Game,
By A Customer
This review is from: Madden NFL 2001 [E] (Video Game)
I would have to say that Madden NFL 2001 is one of the hottest games out there when it comes to crunch time smack and pop play. The graphics on this game are near the top of the line and the new sound effects during the game are hot. I like the style and attitude of the football players on the field is awesome. I would reccomend this game if you are a 100% football fan and want to see and hear the best of the NFL, this game is for you.

Best Madden on N64,

Madden 2001 is the best football game on N64. The graphics are improved, the animation is smooth, and play control is nice. There are some nice added features, like finally the ability to pull the ball down as the QB and run if no one is open or if your QB is in trouble. The computer seems to finally call penalties, which makes it more realistic. The Madden commentary is still terrible(why doesn't EA take a hint?). Also, you can modify the computer AI, making them run/pass more, and set the kind of playcalling(aggressive, conservative, normal). However, even if you set the game to mostly run, the CPU still seems very pass-happy, no matter what team they are. Oh yeah, and you will get burned if you don't put major pressure on the QB, even if you have an all-star secondary. Despite the horrible commentary and the strange AI, this is still a very, very solid game, and I would tell any football fan to buy it since QB Club stinks, and Blitz is just for casual fans. So go out and buy this!

I just couldn't enjoy this game. I would get filled with anger and have to turn it off. I don't know if all these people played this game for N64 but the only thing going for this game is the graphics. The AI isn't good, it just cheats. Their guys can run and catch through your guys. It is impossible to run, because it is nearly impossible to break tackles. Your man is never open because when you throw the ball the computer players get a sudden burst of speed and all of a sudden your guy is triple-teamed by the time the ball gets there. Penalties are usually in favor the computer. Madden 2002 is a much better game, but that isn't on N64. If I had to buy for 64, I would ethier get QB Club 2001 or Madden 2000.

Great Football,

With excellent graphics and play style, this out does all previously released Madden football games. I first purchased it for N64 and was more than happy with all of the improvements. The game is faster with better graphics and better heads on football. A great game for the football lover. The only downside to this outstanding game is John Madden and his stupid commentary. He only has about 5 or 6 things to say and he continiously repeats them throughout the game. It gets very irritating. However, there is an option to turn him "off" which I highly reccomend. I would rate this game a ten if I could. And it is even better for Playstation 2!

This game is, in my opinion, the best game of the Madden series. The only bad feature in this game is that in franchise mode, you can trade a no name for a star as long as you include a draft pick. If you like a game that is easy to win ( I average 129 points a game whereas my opponents average 11) this is th game for you. The computer is horrible no matter what skill level you put it on. However, with Madden 2002 coming out next month, I would save your money and buy that.

Just imagine......a game that plays like a playstation, looks like the last NFL Quarterback Club game that came out. Well here it is! This game has pretty much everything to it. Killer graphics, harder hits, and flying helmets. The new uniforms for certain teams adds to the fun-factor. Like the Rams' gold and blue color jerseys. Not to mention that the game handles well. There are new features also. The new no-huddle offense is added to the field. Certain celebrations for certain teams. And my favorite part of the game, one handed catches. My friends and I have decided that this is the best football game that has came out in the system's history!! If I where you, I'd get it!

I have every single NFL game that is on the market. I have seen some good ones and bad ones. At first I was going to wait to get the game after the bugs were all fixed. Then my friend got it and I love it. That night I went out and bought it. I played from 8:30 to about 2:00 the next morning it was the best NFL game I have played before. There cant be any bugs in this game because I have had no problems.
