Enough is enough already,

This review is from: Madden NFL 2004 (Video Game)
What we have here is an exact clone of Madden 2001-2002 and 2003; plays the same, looks the same, sounds the same. Obviously not very much attention has been focused on the psone versions of the game the past couple of years due to the game being on the superior systems of today. Is there anything new to be found here? Well.. there's the updated rosters as always, the Falcons new uniform and logo and there's the Eagles new stadium, Lincoln Financial Field. Apparently EA forgot that the Seahawks moved to a new stadium last year as they're still playing at the one the Washington Huskies do. The same game modes are there; exhibition game, regular season play, practice, coaches corner.. earn those madden cards again by accomplishing tasks during gameplay.. you get it by now. There's new music tracks so the game player doesn't have to endure the sounds of the likes of Bon Jovi or Good Charlotte *puke* not that it's much of a bargain this year. Anyway, there's no option to edit the classic teams of yesteryear, not all the alternate uniforms are there (not the biggest deal maybe, the Dolphins covered in complete aqua is rather revolting). The same old 16 bit classic game was added *yawns loudly* again. I haven't dabbled in the franchise mode but I can only imagine that's pretty much the same as well. With that being said, It's still a worthy buy depending upon whether you've played last year's game or the other two that I mentioned in the begining. Otherwise I suggest sticking with any of those past additions in the Madden series, just bring in the recent draft picks through player creation and make other proper modifactions concerning this year's rosters and save your money until you can purchase either a Gamecube, PS2 or an Xbox. You'll be glad you did once you've played Madden on any of those platforms.

Nerd Game,

Being a big nerd i enjoy playing this game very much. The graphics are excellent and the sound is by far the best i've seen these many years. But the main reason i gave this game a 5-star rating is so people could see whether to buy this game or just to sit around bored. If you're bored, this is the game to buy. So insted of sitting here reading reviews get out there and start playing some good ol' football to become a nerd just like me. I love you John. Happy footballing ;)

HORRIBLE GAMEPLAY,

i've bought all the NFL games since 1998, and this one is actually the worse of them all. It has a great franchise mode, but the gameplay is just awful. there are far too many bugs exploited by the computer that result in long BS plays. you will find yourself buying a new controller every week to replace the one you broke against the wall after a 90 yard TD pass on 3rd and 25.

If you are a fan of Madden football, this is a good game. The main upgrade for this year is the fact that you can really get into controlling the team as the owner, and you can relocate if you have the funds. If you like the GM side of the game, you will love this game. For the actual gameplay, it is not very different from 2003 Madden. Although the computer can intercept passes like they are going out of style. So, this is not the greatest Madden of all time, but still a good game. BJoseph Dworak

Its just an average football game. Nothing really special about it. Gameplay isn't to bad. I own it and play it once and a while. I'm not personally a fan of the Madden series, but if you're the type who likes to sit down and play a good game of football, this game is for you. And its dirt cheap if you buy it used.

Big disappointment,

I gave this 2 stars for the new Owner Mode. You have to manage the team's finances, which is fun.
What I don't like about the game is that it's too easy at the Rookie level, but too difficult at the Pro level. The defensive backs must be able to run a 1.1 40 and jump 20 feet in the air because of the ridiculous interceptions I've seen in this game.
The graphics aren't an improvement over prior years of Madden. Plus, you would like some commentary with the game, but you have to listen to that incredibly annoying, clueless John Madden.

peeeuwww,

this is the worst game i have played in years (including the origional crash bandicoot game) I love playing sports games and i admit i am addicted to them. But this game was horrible, it felt like i was getting intercepted for no reason. A player 30 yards away suddenly apepars from nowhere, intercepts and runs down feild while my frozen character sits there to watch. Some of the big teams (Raiders) aren't even being accounted for, i mean hello, has Madden never heard of Jerry Rice? THe graphics stink the gameplay stinks and the control stinks if there was a 1/10 star, i would've picked it, the only reason it deserves anything is because it's so exciting when you get a touchdown without being magically intercepted you almost faint.

RECIEVED FOR A CHRISTMAS PRESENT AND IT WAS A MADDEN KNOCK-OFF! THE ONLY THING THAT WAS 2004 ABOUT THE GAME WAS THE UPDATED LOGOS.
