1.0 out of 5 stars Never tested... August 28, 2013

This has to be the most broken Madden I have ever played. I starting doing drills because I thought it would be fun. So broken beyond belief. The game decides when you succeed and when you fail. It doesn't decide based on how you perform the drill correctly, but it decides when it feels like it. Example, I had to throw a LOB pass and I have played 10+ years of Madden to be pretty familiar with that pass. My receiver caught the ball and went into the end zone...fail. This happened for hours...and hours. It took all I had in me not to throw out the game. I eventually moved on to a regular game. So I caught the ball in the end zone and took 4 steps before going out of bounds...incomplete pass. I intercepted a throw...incomplete pass. I mean error after error with the game. That coupled with the freezing really did it for me. I love Madden and it seems that all they do is recycle traits from years ago and call it "new features". It isn't new...The drill scenario is in Madden 05. I am sick if Madden rushing through games. I want a game that works. Madden, I fought for you with last year's version but you have disappointed me yet again. Before writing this review, I played 12+ hours to make sure I was thorough. I will never buy another Madden again. I expect any game to have its little issues or quirks but come on Madden. I am tired of you recycling ideas, never truly fixing issues, and how you seem to never put real effort into making this game a good experience for its players.

1.0 out of 5 stars Madden 25 freezing edition August 30, 2013

How can EA send out a game that doesn't even work? My game freezes at all random times in all of the modes I try to play...in three days I have only been able to play 2.5 games..I am ready to throw my game out in the trash. Come on EA get a clue and update the game so it is actually playable.

1.0 out of 5 stars This game is crap! December 8, 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3|Edition:Standard
After buying the last two Madden's with frustation abounding, I decided to rent this one just to see if there might be improvements...no, not one, in fact it's worse. How could this game be worse? It appears as if all the pride that went into the game back in the day (and it was the hallmark game when I owned a Sega Genesis, was rather like the holy grail of sports games), has just been drained. Perhaps it's the king on the hill syndrome? Not allowing other football games perhaps has some bad karma after all.
Needless to say, learning how to make a season (at least there was one this time through, yikes), was complicated and ultimately frustrating.
There are so many problems with this game, the list could easily go into the hundreds, the freezing alone is just outrageous and anyone associated with this game should be drilled as to how they could allow it to be sold as is.
I was really hoping for a good, revised and solid game...instead the graphics look like they are from the early 80's, the instant replay is a joke, the momentum is weird and hard to control...again, the list is long.
The one caveat was that playing with All-Madden against All-Madden in superbowl mode was actually not horrible...that's the best I can offer...RENT DON'T BUY! And even then, keep your expectations low, as EA must have done prior to putting it on the shelves.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pointless August 28, 2013

This game is essentially useless. I've played it for two days, and three times already the game has frozen (meaning I've lost my progress in Franchise.) I shouldn't have to save the game every couple weeks or face losing everything I've done so far! Don't waste your money, trust me. Just keep playing last year's version.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrendous! November 11, 2013

First of all, this isn't the worst Madden of all time but it sure does not warrant a pass. This game has so many flaws that I will detail shortly. The graphics seem to be repetitive, Alex Smith looks like Aaron Rodgers. The personas for each player isn't entirely similar to real life, Terrele Pryor looks so dark that it even begs the question: do they really scout and analyze NFL players? It sure doesn't seem to be.

Now, to the flaws. The game seems to have a bunch but I'll list the ones most annoying and damaging to the franchise. On we go:

1)You can't edit stats during the season, nor in the menu. I tried doing it and it didn't save a damn. Yeah, it saved their attire like gloves and kneepads but not their stats.

2)The sidelines have the same waterboys. Sure, it isn't a major flaw but it is comical to see the same guys pouring water on players chins on both sidelines.

3)To kick a field goal. Sebastian Janikowski has the most powerful kick in the NFL, his accuracy is sometimes off but he can kick a 60 yard field goal. I played a season with the Raiders, I was 1-8 kicking over 45 yards. The machine, made kicks of 62 and 67 yards with ease, which is ridiculous.

4)Franchise mode is gone. I found it so complicated to play a season than ever before.

5)L1 makes them flip the ball like a lateral pass even with no player around, it is a useless button.

Yearly, Madden seems to take a step back than a step forward. People will still buy it despite its major flaws but it will come a time in which the flaws will just be to much to bear.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a good game, but some of you are hypocrites... September 7, 2013

So, my friend bought this game and let me borrow it 2 days after that...which should be a pretty good indication. After two days of playing it, he was sick of it. I told him not to buy it or at least rent it first since he just recently got into football. We played my version of Madden 12 and he enjoyed it so he decided to get Madden 25, thinking it would be even better, even though I told him that with EA, that is rarely the case since they are always a one step forward/two steps back type of company.

So, he got it last Saturday, and Monday night, he was telling me how much better Madden 12 was and that Madden 25 was buggy and froze twice on him. I laughed and said Id have to check out his version sometime and he immediately told me I could borrow his that night. I felt bad so I let him borrow my Madden 12 which he enjoyed and I only play rarely anymore. So, I get it home and I start sifting through the menus just to check everything out. Everything feels pretty good so being a franchise guy I immediately start one up (Connected Careers in this game). I played one full game...Steelers vs Titans, and it had its moments, but like Madden's past, it just felt like the same game as years past. Yes, the animations and physics are a bit smoother, but the game still feels bland. Everything...from the gameplay to the commentating/presentation is just stale. While there were some definite small improvements in Madden 25 over Madden 12 (didnt play Madden 13 enough to really know), in the end, it just feels the same, which is not a good thing. So, after playing that game I sim a few games and start to play another. I get sick of it midway through the 2nd quarter, which is exactly what I mean and what Maddens problem has been for years...it just isnt fun in the long run.
